US Government Sues Texas For Requiring ID to Vote. Obama Claims this is Racial Injustice... ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!

So this is a recognized supreme court decision, but the President and Holder still file suit fraduently to fight this with tax dollars.

Now my tax dollars are going to support the US vs Texas in an illegal suit supporting illegal voters...

Remember when a person fakes a 911 call and all sort of money pours into the investigation and such, and when it is found to be a waste of taxpayer money, then that fraudulent person is held responsible for the civil dollars wasted on a fraudulent situation....

Holder and Obama need to pay this bill....

If you have to have ID to buy over the counter decongestants like Sudafed, or to board an airplane, or enter a Federal building--then the sacred CITIZENSHIP right to vote should demand that you prove your eligibility--any "minorities" that wish to vote needed ID to get SNAP and EBT cards--tough shit if you are too lame to go to the DMV and get--free--a non-driver :voter's ID--it isn't like you don't have the years between elections to find time and a ride to get it done....

That's pretty much my point starting out... But my biggest problem here is that he has started these lawsuits while blatantly showing his intentions as if he doesn't care anymore about hiding it. Why is he so confident now? What has changed?

This is partisan politics all the way. Requiring ID would reduce the "demo K Rat" voter turnout thus reducing their chances for election.

Texas law seem reasonable enough to me. I have shown my driver license when voting.

Why shouldn't everyone who votes be required to show a DL or ID card?

I mean get real, you need an I.D. for everything else, why not voting. In my state we show our I.D. and have for a long time.

Maybe we need to start taking out ads in plain language, saying that this law they are trying to pass, is calling them poor and stupid. Many might be poor but not stupid.

The only reason that I can think of that they want to make this an issue is voter fraud. Can anyone tell me another reason?

I sure wish we had people with morals and common since running this country, instead of power hungry people. But I guess I would have to live in utopia to have that.

I was born here, I,ve traveled through out most of the fifty states and Texas, regrettably, is in the top 10 most raciest places in the US. When I was in my 30's and told people that I was from Texas I got a warm welcome, now I keep my mouth shut for fear they will spit in my food. We Texans are 9 out of fifty of the fattest people in the US. We are in the top 10% of the drunkest. We're fat loud mouth drunks for the most part now. That never check the facts on anything.

!. Only 1/3 of the counties in Texas have a DPS site that they can get a picture ID. That means that some old retired white people that usta vote because it was the last thing in their lives that made them feel apart of the community will just not do it any more.

2. It cost money. It doesn't matter if if its 10 cents, if you have to pay to vote it is a POLL TAX.

It's not that I wouldn't support an ID Law to vote, but it would have to be a free ID to anyone that asked for it and the state would have to supply what ever was necessary to make sure that no one was unjustly denied the right to vote. You people don't know what it means to live in the country on Social Security. The widow of a man that supported you all his life till he died, and never owned a car of had a drivers license. There are a lot more of every color like that you want to know about. I see them all the time.

I AGREE! NO PROBLEM! The Texas lawmakers knew this when they wrote the bill. They could have done what you and I agree on.

OK maybe I'm just simplifying the whole thing here but why not just give voter IDs to anyone without an ID for free???

The lawsuit says that people are being forced to PAY for an ID in order to vote. They're calling it a "poll tax". It isn't a tax if the ID is free.

A bunch of people won't like the idea but why not raise the price of a drivers license by a buck or two in order to pay for the "free" voter IDs.

If you already have a valid ID like a driver's license you don't need to get a voter ID.

This takes care of the "poll tax" while still forcing people to show ID in order to vote.

If you collect ANY KIND of govt. support you should be issued an ID.(that takes care of the blacks) and if you're an illegal -you don't get to fucking vote anyway. Of course unless you do enough Ofraudo dick sucking then he'll sign an EO and allow you automatic citizenship.

I get what you're trying to say, but an ID is a *prerequisite* for many things (previously noted in this thread) in this country. You must have legal ID PRIOR TO doing thus and such. Owning this or that. No, I for one would not support a free voter ID. It still would not address those not legally in this country, being able to vote in the ones who run this country. That is just not fair to the rest of us who play their damn game.

People that are against all Voter ID laws are at a disadvantage because it is obvious that some level of identification to vote is necessary. Voters Registration Cards are the current form of identification. So what we are debating is "WHAT ID WILL GUARANTEE THAT YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE" I live in Texas and I have NEVER shown a birth cert. to renew my drivers license. I brought it but they never asked for it. I COULD HAVE BEEN A CANADIAN, GOD FORBID, FOR ALL THEY KNEW! So a picture ID from DPS means nothing.
