He opened it up and the mother bird started feeding her baby right away. After a while, she found enough courage to feed it in the palm of his hand. I had humming birds set up in my dining room next to a wall of windows. At first I had the feeders just outside. Then when they got used to feeding from them I moved them inside and in the mornings I would just go and open up all of the windows. They would fly in, hover around my head. I would have my coffee and they entertained me every morning. They became very curious and kept investigating me after a few weeks. Fortunately, when they poop on you it's basically just sugar water, so not much of a mess........ yes that did happen plenty. Not sure if any of it ever got in my coffee.... hmmm |
