Remember this: "The Secret Meeting that Changed Rap Music and Destroyed a Generation"

Lately we have been having black on white murder stories. Hand in hand with this is the deleterious issue of when "hip hop music," changed for the worse and why it did: to fill the private prisons and create a black culture of gangsters and death.

The Story:

Hello,

After more than 20 years, I've finally decided to tell the world what I witnessed in 1991, which I believe was one of the biggest turning point in popular music, and ultimately American society. I have struggled for a long time weighing the pros and cons of making this story public as I was reluctant to implicate the individuals who were present that day. So I've simply decided to leave out names and all the details that may risk my personal well being and that of those who were, like me, dragged into something they weren't ready for.

Between the late 80's and early 90’s, I was what you may call a “decision maker” with one of the more established company in the music industry. I came from Europe in the early 80’s and quickly established myself in the business. The industry was different back then. Since technology and media weren’t accessible to people like they are today, the industry had more control over the public and had the means to influence them anyway it wanted. This may explain why in early 1991, I was invited to attend a closed door meeting with a small group of music business insiders to discuss rap music’s new direction. Little did I know that we would be asked to participate in one of the most unethical and destructive business practice I’ve ever seen.

The meeting was held at a private residence on the outskirts of Los Angeles. I remember about 25 to 30 people being there, most of them familiar faces. Speaking to those I knew, we joked about the theme of the meeting as many of us did not care for rap music and failed to see the purpose of being invited to a private gathering to discuss its future. Among the attendees was a small group of unfamiliar faces who stayed to themselves and made no attempt to socialize beyond their circle. Based on their behavior and formal appearances, they didn't seem to be in our industry. Our casual chatter was interrupted when we were asked to sign a confidentiality agreement preventing us from publicly discussing the information presented during the meeting. Needless to say, this intrigued and in some cases disturbed many of us. The agreement was only a page long but very clear on the matter and consequences which stated that violating the terms would result in job termination. We asked several people what this meeting was about and the reason for such secrecy but couldn't find anyone who had answers for us. A few people refused to sign and walked out. No one stopped them. I was tempted to follow but curiosity got the best of me. A man who was part of the “unfamiliar” group collected the agreements from us.

Quickly after the meeting began, one of my industry colleagues (who shall remain nameless like everyone else) thanked us for attending. He then gave the floor to a man who only introduced himself by first name and gave no further details about his personal background. I think he was the owner of the residence but it was never confirmed. He briefly praised all of us for the success we had achieved in our industry and congratulated us for being selected as part of this small group of “decision makers”. At this point I begin to feel slightly uncomfortable at the strangeness of this gathering. The subject quickly changed as the speaker went on to tell us that the respective companies we represented had invested in a very profitable industry which could become even more rewarding with our active involvement. He explained that the companies we work for had invested millions into the building of privately owned prisons and that our positions of influence in the music industry would actually impact the profitability of these investments.

"With an eye made quiet by the power of harmony and the deep power of joy, we see into the life of things." William Wordsworth

And yet the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forebears fought are still at issue around the globe—the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state, but from the hand of God.

John F. Kennedy Inaugural Address

Lincoln's economic advisor Henry C. Carey explained the universal issue in his 1851 Harmony of Interests:

"Two systems are before the world.... One looks to pauperism, ignorance, depopulation, and barbarism; the other to increasing wealth, comfort, intelligence, combination of action, and civilization. One looks towards universal war; the other towards universal peace. One is the English system; the other ... the American system, for ... elevating while equalizing the condition of man throughout the world."

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." - Albert Einstein

I don't doubt it, as the mainstream was hijacked after 2pac and Biggies death. Which I think had everything to do with this as well. It's alive and well now in the underground thanks to the web, but unfortunately can not wrestle it lose from their hands as the masses have been brainwashed too much now.

Hip hop wasnt destroyed, the retarded masses just dick rided whatever was on tv, so when tv started playing that west coast gangster rap garbage and you never heard from the real hip hop artists that were speaking on political subjects again, it was YOUR fault. Mainly because you're easily distracted and brainwashed. Real hip hop exists even today and is growing faster than ever, and i dont mean that fat angry wigger vinnie paz who just rehashes everything glp has been saying for years, or that off beat dirt farmer immortal technique.

true Hip Hop heads know something has been rotten for a long time... there is no spiritual wisdom in hip hop, quite the reverse, by design...

some have spoken out... the msm is mostly satanic. It is really obvious... if you are spiritually smart.

It is agreed that various music artists have great merit, but the predominant platform has appeared to be destructive as stated in the original post. One cannot easily appreciate how difficult it is to reach goals as a musician whatever the genre. What one can realize today is how difficult it is to reach out with a good and pleasing music message only to be rejected in favor of trash music.

It started "officially," with the deaths of Tupac Shakur and "Biggie" Smalls. Compared to today's rap music, those two were excellent artists who put meaning, feeling and struggle into their music.

The takeover really didn't "take hold" until the early 2000s, with duds like Fifty Cent. The "rap" industry is so volitaile, these guys usually end up lasting a couple years, if even, before they cash out.

Jay-Z is definitely involved with this, and has made his allegiances well-known through symbolism, and at one point even left the industry in disgust. Someone turned/blackmailed him (probably due to his past drug dealings).

It's not just in the music, but also in television. Just last night, the intro to some f'in show, there was someone being tortured. Society has bought into demonic thoughts as entertainment. The television is easily the gateway to the inner ills that people are experiencing in society. If you just fill your mind with darkness, what do you expect? It's been sick since I was a kid, and it's just becoming more mainstream -- drugs, rap, horror entertainment, street gangs, mafia, MMA, World War, this that and whatever the fuck people get off on. Humans have turned from sickos into some serious fuckin' sickos...

It's so easy to hate everything when it's all so disgusting....

***

I do not doubt the plausibility of this thread.

Let's look at what else happened ....

There was the glorification of pot and harder drugs by the music industry. With this result:

From Wikipedia:
By 2010, drug offenders in federal prison had increased to 500,000 per year, up from 41,000 in 1985. Drug related charges accounted for more than half the rise in state prisoners. The result, 31 million people have been imprisoned on drug related charges

From Drug War Facts
Federal: On Dec. 31, 2011, there were 197,050 sentenced prisoners under federal jurisdiction. Of these, 94,600 were serving time for drug offenses, 14,900 for violent offenses, 10,700 for property offenses, and 69,000 for "public order" offenses (of which 22,100 were sentenced for immigration offenses, 29,800 for weapons offenses, and 17.100 for "other").

State: On Dec. 31, 2011, there were 1,341,804 sentenced prisoners under state jurisdiction. Of these, 225,242 were serving time for drug offenses, 710,875 for violent offenses, 245,351 for property offenses, 141,803 for "public order" offenses (which include weapons, drunk driving, court offenses, commercialized vice, morals and decency offenses, liquor law violations, and other public-order offenses), and 18,534 for "other/unspecified".

Either set of statistics shows that incarcerated drug offenders make up quite a work force.

***
I don't use drugs, and am not happy about the heavy drug use in our country.

But I see a core of pure evil in using music to deteriorate the decency of young people this way.

There's no doubt it changes the listener.. first time a person hears it, which these days would be way back, it sounds so offensive, all the language but soon the words don't really mean what they meant at one time. Or they're just words used in the rap, next you're able to spit that stuff out like it's nothing or your on automatic pilot.

Was about to post how a generation or two has been lost because of it, a day or so ago on another thread.

Can't turn on the radio(rarely do anyway) with out hearing the stuff.. the station may have certain words blocked out or substituted for a less offensive word... but the word's still there on the cd.

Don't know about the prison thing.. But come to think of it both yield the same results..i've always heard about another group that invested heavily into rap in the early days an still today. which also fits perfectly with this group's agenda..go into prison system one way and come out a different way..And all the while blaming it all on whitey.

Interesting, no doubt..
