Yeah, I ended up moving most of my stuff to an alternate email account. It's a shame as I've had that account since the late 90's I think.

yes, Hotmail / Outlook has been a real pain. I really dislike it. It has locked me out of my email account several times in the last month. Keeps wanting a special code. ( not password) I enter the code and it says it is wrong.

You don't have to put in your # if you don't want. Just go back to live.com. You'll have access to your account.

outlook is great- all i can see is the outside --access to hotmail denied --no luck since sept 2014 talked to live chat had esculation #s no help opened outlook acc with out ph#
now its blocked asking for ph# as i have none
locked out

Loock at a saerch engine to get help from some side at the internet for this very anoing problem to get your acount working.
Find a way and try to fix this problem

outlook.com could not run a snail mail service
if they gave it a security clause NO THEY WOULD STUFF IT UP
