Then last year, it started getting really cold about October. This year, it didn't really warm up until mid to late May, and fall seems to have hit the first week into August. Usually our summers are so dry we get maybe five storms between the middle of May and August with highs in the triple didgets between mid July and the end of August. It hasn't hit above 90 at all this month, I don't think, and it's rained at least three days a week all summer. My day lilies drowned and went dormant after just a week of blooming back in early July, and the trees started turning two weeks ago. Vegetable crops have been pitiful with under sized and/or split fruit, and the tomato vines have already stopped producing. |

We have not been as lucky as others in regards to rain and such. I do believe you, OP, if not a bit jealous. ;) "Dependency is commonplace Easy eradication of the human race"-The Acacia Strain, Wormwood I always leave good karma. asthemadworldturns User ID: 45652825 United States 08/23/2013 10:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Uh, it's August Quoting: TheTruthMonger Trees in my yard and the neighborhood are turning yellow. Leaves are falling in droves. The tomatoes are withering along with the cucumber plants, okra, everything else..... Grass turning yellow as if going dormant. Flower bed plants are yellowing. It's not been hot, in fact this has been the coolest summer I can remember, no oppressive heat like in every other summer ever. There have been maybe seven total days without rain since May. I feel like I live in the tropics without the heat. Wtf is going on? Is this normal and I typically have attributed this sort of thing to intense August heat- but its more based on the location of the sun? Or do the plants know something we don't? Here, grass did not get as green as last year; flowers that usually bloom in spring all the way through summer either did not bloom at all or only briefly and then faded; trees seem to be doing ok, but overall, things seem very off- kilter. |

Your area plants and trees are used to lots of hot sunshine and humidity. Must not be getting enough. Might try a bit of fertilizer??? Quoting: bigD111 Excellent thought, fellow wolvie. However, doesn't really explain the root problem , which is the seven total days of no rain in 4 months .... I've fertilized accordingly |
