Anonymous Coward User ID: 1697215 United States 08/24/2013 04:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | grind your own beans. mr coffee grinder about $18. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1253249 buy eight o clock whole bean coffee. it is not expensive and tastes and smells delicious. even if you don't grind, buy eight o clock. the best 100% columbian coffee you will ever taste. another trick is that after you open your coffee, keep it in a tightly closed container or a zip lock bag with air squeezed out. you want to keep your coffee moist and not dried out which loses flavor quickly. Just picked some up on sale. Blue Bunny ice cream was on sale too, got natural vanilla and cookie dough. |

Useless Cookie Eater User ID: 29696048 United States 08/24/2013 05:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There's currently a blight affecting non-robusta coffee. Basically a bunch of bad breeding practices were used to create the current popular coffees. Robusta seems to be immune. They are trying to crossbreed various species to get an immunity started, but the new crossbreeds taste like robusta. Very similer thing happened in the 40's with bananas. Ask someone born before the 40's how a banana tasted then :p Quoting: not.gonna.put.one 1684054 You have got it the wrong way around. The rust blight affects the Robusta's.....not the Arabica beans. |

Unlike Brazil, which produces a third of global coffee, Central American growers usually cultivate Arabica coffee rather than the intense and harsher Robusta coffee. In blends, Central American beans often are mixed in to lend flavor. “Brazil hasn’t been affected by the rust. The lower quality picks up the slack,” said Peter Giuliano, director of the Specialty Coffee Symposium, an annual confab for coffee professionals. “What are Folgers, Maxwell House, Kraft, General Foods, Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts going to do? They’ll start mixing more Robusta in bags of Arabica,” said De Leon of the coffee growers cooperative Fedecocagua. Read more here: [link to www.mcclatchydc.com] |

Quoting: Ms. Superduper Shoot, I've heard that he used to just boil the coffee in a pot with water. Coffee and water just boiling together. Percolated coffee that my grandma used to throw eggshells in the basket, lol |

We used to have a subscription, and we were flooded with coffee before I finally cancelled. lol.. We have been using it up lately, and it held up really well (for 2 years old, not re packaged or frozen) In storage room of 75 degrees or under, all this time.
