" I would like to share with you my journey to the grocery store tonight"
First off when I arrive it's in a strip mall and all other units are for lease! This store is in " hoity toyty " vill and 20,000 squ. Ft homes are around! Sooooo even in this neighborhood " everyone's out of business"

The first thing that stands out in my mind is that most prices on the shelves are 5 and 6 dollars ! The sticker shock was unbelievable tonight !

The second thing I noticed tonight was more than usual everyone walking around staring at the ground pretending like shit is not all #%€£ED up! I see that allot but tonight it really got on my nerves!

Bottom line , fruits , nuts , cereal , salad and a few of this and plus a dozen roses for grams cost me a hundred dollars! Just unreal...........
Everyone just wants to walk around staring at the floor , it's a weird time!

Side note: on the way to store I got the alert from Drudge , " Launch in Syria with in days" America about to make yet another , very foolish mistake!

Take cereal off your list. It's bad for you. :) And fruit...you really don't need a lot of fruit in your diet.

i went tonight to get some bacon and i see some for 3.99 a pack and all the others are 5 dollars and up

so okay not bad price i grab 3 packs

i get home take a look and it says new size on the pack so i look a little closer this pack of bacon is now smaller than all the other packs it only weighs 375gm and all the others weigh 500gm

so the deal i thought i was getting was none existent do to the decrease in size it was just as expensive they just shrunk the pack

i guess in another couple years everything will just be single servings at the price the bulk packs used to cost

groceries have to be at least 15 times more expensive than in 1991

the best part is that no one has got a raise since 1978

In 1972, the price of an ounce of gold was $38.00 per ounce
(source = [link to minerals.usgs.gov] )

In 1972, the minimum wage was $1.60 an hour.

A person in 1972 had to work approx 23.75 hours to earn the equivalent of an ounce of gold value.

In 2013, the price of gold is roughly $1,580.00 an ounce (give or take)

In 2013 the minimum wage is currently $7.25 and hour.

A person today must work approximately 218 hours to earn the equivalent to an ounce of gold.

This has slowly taken place over the last 40 some odd years. Most people were to distracted to even notice it happening. But it's here now and it's effects are staggering

why? bacon is far healthier than most sugary items. It is better for you than many so-called veggies (anyone else hate that baby-sounding term? Ever hear anyone talk about buying "meaties"? didn't think so.)

Lima beans, cabbage, potatoes and bacon - and a slow flame, a couple pinches of salt.

Close to food heaven.
