I have began reading the Nag Hammadi, going deeper into history and teachings, and I understand it in a clear way that I imagine most do not. The fucking problem is, others have felt they understood it as well, and that understanding would be different from mine. Then, I understand that the reason is because of the uniqueness of individuality; what is true for one, may not be true for another. Then, what is the point of any of the Gospels, any of the Gnostics, any of the wisdom of Shamans, etc, if it cannot be expressed as a general truth? All veiled in allegory, in parables, in symbols, etc.
So, it is a guide and not an answer. And the seeing of the knowledge that is beyond language...what do you do with it!? The world is so full of information overload, to try and express it, you would just be one amongst the many. Did Jesus and Buddha and Zoroaster and Moses, etc have this difficulty?
Quoting: Septenary Spirals I was thinking about the use of 'secret sayings' not long ago. To be honest I can't even perceive how they could function as a guide to others. They were not meant to be understood by those whose awareness was rooted in the 'physical' as they were designed to disguise deeper/veiled spiritual wisdom/truths. (1) And he said, "Whoever finds the interpretation of these sayings will not experience death" - Gospel Of ThomasThe thing is, no amount of studying or analyzing the sayings will help the readers interpret or decipher their deeper meanings. So the sayings themselves are not really guiding the reader any greater understanding or awareness. It is only AFTER an individual experiences that transformation of awareness do the meanings of 'secret sayings' actually become clear. So what's the function of them really? You won't understand them until you assimilate the awareness level of the author who communicated them - but the messages themselves don't facilitate that process. So they will only make sense once you share the perspective of the author - but at that point, you're really not being aided or benefiting from the 'sayings', only receiving affirmation of something you've already experienced or figured out on your own accord. So what the hell is their purpose/function/value?
