We actually believed duck and cover would work against a nuke 1950s?

Well so what....turns out radiation is good for us.Nothing to worry about,,not even fukushima

I'm 32 and this was still written in our highschool student handbook in the 90's. Better just to duck down put your head between your legs and kiss your arse goodbye.

Earthquake drills were fun. Everybody duck under your desk. Wtf??? How is that safe when you end up trapped under debris. That or stand in a doorway. I think now they tell you if at at all possible to get out of the building quickly and calmly.

Duck and cover was adopted back in the age of atomic weapons, before thermonuclear devices were developed.
