Anonymous Coward User ID: 45276821 United Kingdom 08/27/2013 06:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well America is about to commit genocide against his people... Quoting: Ikhthus God bless Syria and the Syrian people... :( Funny because every report I read says ENGLAND is involved just as much as we are.... The UK, not England. There will be people from Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland involved in this as much as English. They are one people called the British. Unfortunately it seems we will always back the US in their wars. An overhang from WWII no doubt. |

Unfortunately it seems we will always back the US in their wars. An overhang from WWII no doubt. You know the MoD and the French have been pushing for this harder than the US was for quite a while. I'll be ashamed of the US if we allow a runaway government to launch a strike, especially in the absence of detailed proof and even more so in the face of multiple credible polls that show the overwhelming majority of Americans want no part of this conflict, regardless if Assad really did order the chemical strike, which it is becoming painfully obvious he did not. |

waterlily User ID: 43877463 United States 08/27/2013 07:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am so tired of this Middle East adventuring. I have been through this "My country right or wrong" exercise for so long when it has been obvious to me that the asses in DC just use patriotism as the opiate of the people, and there is literally nothing right in what they are doing. I have supported the military, the guys in uniform for decades, but I am also getting a little tired of having those guys tell me that I am some kind of a traitor if I do not support these illegal, by international law, pirate incursions into countries where we have NO business. Sorry guys, I will send you cards at Christmas and always speak well of you and not call you Baby Killers, but I will not in any way support an attack on Syria or Iran. Just sayin' it. *********** WaterLily *********** " Do I dare Disturb the universe?" -- T. S. Elliot, Love Song of J. I think it's pretty obvious because he brought his senior officals and members of his family. That doesn't sound like a quick business trip while fleets of ships are standing by to eradicate your forces. Yeah, that sounds more like fleeing. He could show back up in a day or two, leaving his family in Tehran, with a bunch of "backup" from Iran. Just a thought.... He may be preparing to go down with the ship, but our sure to come spanking won't amount to much considering the other group to take over would be worse than him. “One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.” – Carl Sagan |

Using denial of service attacks, defacement, and other methods, it mainly targets political opposition groups and western websites, including news organizations and human rights groups. The Syrian Electronic Army (SEA) is the first public, virtual army in the Arab world to openly launch cyber attacks on its opponents,[2] though the precise nature of its relationship with the Syrian government is debated.[3] [link to en.wikipedia.org] |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17896994 How about we leave him/them alone, get our troops the hell out of the entire region, including Afghanistan, mind our own fucking business and all have a nice day??? How about you pick out your best dress and go back down to metrosexual man world. I bet when Barry walks by you give him one hell of a salute. Looking sharp for your fuhrer. I can't stand Obama, but what I can't stand worse are people who don't put support behind their military or country. When you have a country that doesn't support its people or its own military fuck em! This administration definitely doesn't support this country! “One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. Your babies and children will be deprived of money resources and their parents for their education and welfare to try to stop a vicious cycle that has been going on for generations, raising the debt ceiling yet again so that their grandchildren will live in squalor to pay it off. |

I know how you feel. Mark Twain said it best. "Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and the government when it deserves it". Our government (King Barry) is a long way from deserving any support. I will support the troops every day and every way. I have two kids in the military right now, and one of them is in the middle east right now. But, I do not support the illegal invasion of countries where we have no business. Syria has done nothing to America, and we have no interest in Syria. Their internal conflict is none of our business. King Barry is just trying to install his muslim brotherhood buddies into another stepping stone for the new caliphate. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. "America is at that awkward stage. Western powers have decided to destroy the Chem weapons stockpiles before they land in the hands of the wrong people or the regime looses them on Israel - it has nothing to do with crossing any red lines - Iran will try to turn this into WWIII by using Hezzbollah to attack Israel and force them to use the Samson option against the Sunnis. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 4614613 Canada 08/27/2013 08:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What exactly is the point of bombing Syria? I mean it is obvious what the real reason is, but what exactly is the cover story? How do you expect to prevent Syrians from using chemical weapons by throwing bombs at them? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 45485429 I think they're hoping to hit where the chem weapons are being stored, but what if there in basements of apartments in populated areas? That was a concern of some military analyst I heard. So IDK? I read a news article that Harper said no to Obama btw. I'm happy he did, I don't want us a part of starting WW3. |

Quoting: Punctuation Police Do we move into Syria and take over? Do we move on Iran and try to pull him out? Do we give up? Do we wait until he comes back and then attack again? Seriously....this is killing my brain. D.C. said today that they aren't trying to overthrown the regime, or take out Assad. They plan to destroy certain locations, like military buildings or airports. Obama just wants to show that he isn't backing down from his "red line" warning, trying to save face. And Assad knows this, he'll just come back (if he really left) and things will return back to normal. This will cost U.S. taxpayers billions, continued bad relations with Russia, and nothing will be accomplished. |
