I don't normally watch MTV or any tv. Watched the performance to see why people were so indignant. My first thought was that it was very cute and a burlesque. She's a second generation pop star making fun of celebrities who do soft porn with such gravitas, and take themselves so seriously. Honestly, her choreography looked like a teenager dancing like no one was watching but her equally silly friends. It wasn't choreographed to be erotic or sexy. It looked like being back in junior high dancing in our underwear as we waited our turn at the makeup mirror or iron, you know? Flat footed and intentionally too vulgar to be erotic.

She was making fun of other performers and their genre and maybe their culture. She devalued it.

The reactions I saw showed dislike and insult. People knew she was mocking them and somehow aggressing them.

Her black 90s outfit and makeup were sexy and elegant. She's not a girl falling apart or having a serious lapse of taste.

If I gave a poo about the "entertainment industry" I would watch to see how they change their acts.
