You're are going to get a lot of conflicting theories on this but let me try and use evidence from the bible to hopefully paint a somewhat logical picture of what God might look like and where the line between Jesus and God is drawn.

Jesus is God's son, but also the son of man.
God created man.
Therefore Jesus is at least partly God's creation.

Jesus prayed, and often, and on occasion was denied -- specifically when he asked to have the burden of being crucified lifted from him. Praying implies there are some things that are beyond Christ's control, but God's answer (even in the negative)to his appeal by sending angels clearly indicates that he is divine.

Christ died for us.
God cannot die.
God raised Jesus from the dead.
Jesus could not raise himself.

Though Jesus preformed many miracles, he NEVER stated that he should be worshiped. He always pointed out that the glory belong to God.

The Holy Spirit seems to be the ether of God. In all the passages I've read where it speaks of the Holy Spirit it is describe as a sort of divine possession. It flows into people and opens their minds and hearts. It is not visible to mere humans, except for perhaps the rare occasion where it is described as a flame atop the crown of your head -- though I'm not sure if that is artistic license or actually how it appears.

I think if you asked Jesus whether we should worship him or God, he would say worship God. In the end, really, isn't that all you need to know?
