Re: Christians...Is Jesus God?
IF.. the son and the father are the same..

explain Matthew 24:36

But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[a] but only the Father.

If the son doesn't know, but the father does, then the son and the father cannot be the same.

Then take Matthew 27:46

About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli,[a] lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”)

It does not follow that they be the same.

John 1

New King James Version (NKJV)
The Eternal Word

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son,[f] who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

If you want a real answer, a real one.

God is everyone, a unity.

Jesus was a incarnated being on Earth to explain us that principale. I have no freaking idea where they get the holy spirit out of this but I guess it's the connection to divinity.

You are a christ in the making.

spirit from word spiritus means breath. Thats why people who meditate, concentrate on the breath. Breath is life.

Colossians 1:15
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

Ah, I like to ask questions. Some hide lies in truth. That's a no no. :)

Was Jesus created? Well, he came out of a virgin. He was born. The invisible immortal need not be born. The son is the son. The Father is greater.

Hebrews 11:3
By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

Is it possible that the invisible God created himself a visible form then created all things? Made..through him.

John 1 -

John 1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Who is this "He" who was with God in the beginning? No one has seen God but "He" has? Hmm....firstborn.

Can he not see himself?

Re: Christians...Is Jesus God?
Believers are His Servants

This is the practical starting point for all who worship Jesus as Lord and Savior--they are his servants. Paul’s expression, “a bond-servant of Jesus Christ,” is the equivalent of the Old Testament’s “servant of the LORD [Yahweh],” because to Paul they are one and the same person.

This is the highest title that any human could have: Moses, David, Paul--they are all the servants of the LORD. The word for LORD in the Old Testament is the revealed name Yahweh, explained by God to Moses as “I AM.”1 The explanation “I am” is the Hebrew word ‘ehyeh (pronounced eh-yeh); the name Yahweh is actually the third person form of the verb and would translate “He is.” Worshipers declare, “He is!” But God explains that it means “I am.”

Paul is simply identifying Jesus as this Yahweh of the Old Testament, which is why he calls himself his servant.

The term “servant” also needs some clarification. Unlike today, a servant in those days would actually be owned by the master. He, his family, his possessions, all belonged to the master.

Likewise, anyone who is the servant of the LORD, or as Paul puts it, a bond slave of Jesus Christ, no longer is his or her own; they have been bought with a price, the blood of Jesus, and are now under his absolute authority. If Jesus were just a good man, a great teacher, no such authority would be expected. But because he is God the Son, we owe him our lives.

This is why in the book Paul will say that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is LORD (=Yahweh) and believe in our hearts that God has raised him from the dead, we shall be saved” (Rom. 10:9).

You're are going to get a lot of conflicting theories on this but let me try and use evidence from the bible to hopefully paint a somewhat logical picture of what God might look like and where the line between Jesus and God is drawn.

Jesus is God's son, but also the son of man.
God created man.
Therefore Jesus is at least partly God's creation.

Jesus prayed, and often, and on occasion was denied -- specifically when he asked to have the burden of being crucified lifted from him. Praying implies there are some things that are beyond Christ's control, but God's answer (even in the negative)to his appeal by sending angels clearly indicates that he is divine.

Christ died for us.
God cannot die.
God raised Jesus from the dead.
Jesus could not raise himself.

Though Jesus preformed many miracles, he NEVER stated that he should be worshiped. He always pointed out that the glory belong to God.

The Holy Spirit seems to be the ether of God. In all the passages I've read where it speaks of the Holy Spirit it is describe as a sort of divine possession. It flows into people and opens their minds and hearts. It is not visible to mere humans, except for perhaps the rare occasion where it is described as a flame atop the crown of your head -- though I'm not sure if that is artistic license or actually how it appears.

I think if you asked Jesus whether we should worship him or God, he would say worship God. In the end, really, isn't that all you need to know?

Good answer. Jesus is an example for us to follow. The way, truth, and life.

God the Son worships God the Father. Treat others the way you want to be treated.

Why would God expect us to do things he himself was not willing to do?

God picked up his cross and lead the way.

Also, why would Jesus worship Jesus then ask us to follow? Man would then worship himself. Jesus is the path to the Father.

Jesus is literally like God's dream child. God wants a special wedding gift but who can give anything to God? All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We must return to that glory.

Re: Christians...Is Jesus God?
Is Jesus God?

I believe the Scriptures say " Yes, He is.". The Holy Scriptures from the Old Teatment to the New...even the very words of Jesus himself say so. According to the New Teatament, He forgive Sins, Nature obeys Him,He heals the sick, and He raises from the dead, (gives life), He commands the Demons and they obey, He was physically worshiped as GOD by the people and disciples.

Jesus said himself that He was Lord of the Sabbath.and

Jesus said that before Abraham was " I AM "

Even the demons cried out calling Him the " Holy one of Isreal."

These are all attributes that were reserved for only Jehovah Himself in the Old Testament.

Jehovah says that He alone is God, beside Him there is no other. He is the Rock, the Holy one of Isreal their King, the One who created us, Forgives sins, commands nature, heals the sick and raises from the dead, and is be physically worshipped. The "I am" and " Lord of the Sabbath."

Our opinion does not matter, only what the Holy Word testifies to...

The only way that you could come to any other conclusion is because you are ignorant of the Scriptures or you just DO NOT BELIEVE that they are the holy word of our Maker and creator.

Think of Yeshua as the human manifestation of God. When on Earth he did everything as a man would.... Learned, grew, laughed, cried, and followed the Father who is in heaven by Faith in Him as a MAN. He hid his divinity while he lived on Earth. Yet he is God himself.

Here's a tip... Don't worry about what everyone else believes but read the bible and listen to the Holy Spirit speak to your heart. Yeshua sent Him as the Teacher.

Re: Christians...Is Jesus God?
I actually like this explanation best. hf
Excerpted from page 21 of: Conversations with God
· an uncommon dialogue ·
book 1
Neale Donald Walsch
1992 -1994
My link is dead but it is available for free on-line if you look.

"Knowing is a divine state, yet the grandest joy is in being.
Being is achieved only after experience. The evolution
is this: knowing, experiencing, being. This is the Holy
Trinity—the Triune that is God.
God the Father is knowing—the parent of all understandings, the begetter of all experience,
for you cannot experience that which you do not know.
God the Son is experiencing—the embodiment, the
acting out, of all that the Father knows of Itself, for you cannot be that which you have not
experienced.
God the Holy Spirit is being—the disembodiment of all that the Son has experienced of Itself;
the simple, exquisite is-ness possible only through the memory of the knowing and
experiencing.
This simple being is bliss. It is God-state, after knowing and experiencing Itself. It is that for
which God yearned in the beginning."

And from page 104
"Your body, your mind, and your soul (spirit) are one.
In this, you are a microcosm of Me—the Divine All, the
Holy Everything, the Sum and Substance. You see now
how I am the beginning and the end of everything, the
Alpha and the Omega.
Now I will explain to you the ultimate mystery: your exact and true relationship to Me.
YOU ARE MY BODY.
As your body is to your mind and soul, so, too, are you to My mind and soul. Therefore:
Everything I experience, I experience through you.
Just as your body, mind, and spirit are one, so, too, are Mine.
So it is that Jesus of Nazareth, among the many who understood this mystery, spoke
immutable truth when he said, “I and the Father are One.”"

He sums it up on page 107.
"Remember the triangle— the Holy Trinity: spirit-mind-body.
Conceive-create-experience. Remember, using your symbology:
HOLY SPIRIT = INSPIRATION = CONCEIVE
FATHER = PARENTING = CREATE
SON = OFFSPRING = EXPERIENCE
The Son experiences the creation of the fathering thought, which is conceived of by the Holy
Ghost."-God hi hf

Is He The Father? Is He Yahweh/Jehovah? Was He created? I just want to see what everyone thinks...
 Quoting: natalie

It is a mystery that mankind will know in the final judgement.

The Father of Jesus is not mankind's Father, but Jesus will adopt all whom are written in book of life, worthy to receive the glory of eternal life and immortality. Through adoption is mankind made divine and becomes part of the family of Heaven.

Jesus is the same as his Father is, he is a Father of Heaven but his Father is the Father of Heaven also, he is the LORD and GOD but so is his Father, the Holyspirit is what connects them together for both are eternal without creation. The body of Jesus is the manifestation of the Son of God the light and life in all things, the kingdom mankind will inherit whom are redeemed in part of the kingdom of Heaven but it is not the same part that it is written only the Son has seen the Father.

This is a common mistake many people and so called bible scholars make . When Jesus cried out, My God My God ....why has Thou forsaken me ?

Jesus was teaching when he Quoted that phrase from Psalm 22 , that whole psalm was probably quoted by Jesus while on the cross.
Think about it the Pharasee where in front of Jesus mocking him and quoting from the psalm even though they did not realize it , then Jesus quotes back to them the opening cry to God in the Psalm to show the Pharasee they did in fact fulfill prophecy .

There are no mistakes in the word of God only bad and ignorant translations by man and their fleshy interpretations of Gods letter to us , the bible .

John 1 shows that God and the Logos have always existed and He (Logos) divested Himself of spirit to come to earth for our reconciliation. He is Christ the Son of God and God is the Father. The Holy Spirit is the very force or power of God and Christ is the administrator of same. To see who/what the Holy Spirit is read Luke 1 where Gabriel talks to Mary!
