Nice, that's always the impression I got. Those shriners make me giggle everytime I see them hauling ass around a local parade with their Fez tails billowing in the wind. :)

The theory goes that most lodges are set up this way, and that only a handful are really into the other side of things, with only a few members of said lodges actually in practice.

Yeah, I see that. No big surprise, every po-dunk town in my area has one - you're more likely to find a lodge than a traffic light in many.

after i got out of hs i thought itd be cool to see what it was about. i attended a few of their open house meetings, it seemed like just a bunch of people trying to lead better lives honestly. they preached about not treating anyone like youre better or worse. then at the end of the 3rd or so meeting, one of the leader mason guys came to me and told me i was too weird to join because i didnt wear any shoes (i went throu a phase of not wearing shoes, i just wear flip flps now)

i pretty much slapped it in their face that they dont follow their own philosophy, n left. but its really just a bunch of old guys wanting to feel special. much like the boy scouts.

I always thought the secrecy part was more of a gimmick, to get people to join out of curiosity. but I'm a girl so I can't join, so I wouldn't know LOL

Its childish....its annoying....its embarrassing...its people placing themselves above all others. Its also sexist....women cant be part of the ceremonies unless they make sammiches. I say fuck em...actually don't because babies might happen and that would be gross.
