Quoting: Anonymous Coward 45911243 I just hope if they do go ahead with bombing that they don't bring in China, Russia and Israel into a World War. Also, how can Western powers be so sure that these Chemical weapons were not used by rebels or another party? Even the UN inspectors who are on site still don't have enough conclusive evidence on this. if assad ordered confetti shot from cannons the US would claim that confetti could have caused someone to lose an eye and therefore bombing damascus into rubble would be justifiable |

If we strike tomorrow it will be pointless as most of the hardware and ground personnel will have been moved . Quoting: Anonymous Coward 43859158 Not really important in this case cause Syria has got no weapons to defend itself against a modern western army. The same story like Lybia or Irak... Completely wrong. I wouldn't be surprised if Syria sank all the US destroyers in the Mediterranean. It took the United States 20 years of war, UN inspections, and no fly zones to defang Iraq and finish it off. Syria is now more advanced militarily than Iraq ever was. Libya was guaranteed safety by the US when they abandoned all their WMD programs. That's what they get for trusting the US. |

Even the UN inspectors who are on site still don't have enough conclusive evidence on this. Before we can answer the question: which side used chemical weapons?; we have to answer the question: were chemical weapons actually used? Contrary to what you hear in the media this question has not been answered. |

The political decision to finish it off was not taken. The US believed sanctions and rebellions inside Iraq would lead to a coup. It didn't happen. That doesn't mean Iraq was so strong militarily that it took the US 20 years to defang it. |
