But the true nature of Antarctica's Blood Falls may be closer to sci-fi. In the remote McMurdo Dry Valleys in Eastern Antarctica, a slow ooze of vivid crimson seeps from a fissure in the Taylor Glacier and onto the frozen surface of Lake Bonney. It’s easy to see where the five-story-high falls gets its name. Also, it obviously has LARGE amounts of concentrated iron in it... hence its red color. um...any decently informed lifeform would have pinned iron or algae. As long as someone knows how to market it, it could very well happen. I read a story recently about a lake overru with algae; at some point this devalues the area.
