E cigs are just as bad..all smokers know that. They just dont generate the second hand smoke. You still get the nicotine..just not the tar

Nicotine isn't really all that bad for you. It's not the most positive substance in the world, but nicotine is not the carcinogen, tar is.

Nicotine is about as harmful as caffeine.

Probably a collaborative effort by government and the tobacco industry.

Government loves the vice taxes it collects in revenue by targeting smokers [who have an reliance on an addictive substance] and the tobacco industry loves the control they exert over agricultural production, supply lines, and retail outlets.

E-cigarettes decentralize the entire supply chain and cannot be taxed like regular cigarettes.

Nicotine is no more harmful than caffeine. I agree with the other poster about the freaked out control nuts.

Water, Nicotine are the basic and the flavoring is added if you by menthol or the silly flavors. There is a coil inside that heats the water at nearly an instant while condensing it - this creates the 'vapor'. There really are no other chemicals involved which they claimed some versions used a derivative of a chemical found in antifreeze, but strangely enough this compound is also found in regular cigs...

first time I ever raised a bs flag but I make my own juice and there is not one single harmful thing in it. Someone has paid to have these studies done to cause harm for the market.

A lot of people who use e-cigs do experience adverse effects.

The gel component, when vapourized, in e-cigs can be an allergen in most people, whether its vegetable glycerin or if its ethylene glycol. You'll get symptoms of chest tightness, chest/lung pain, throat pain, sinus pain.


I had bad symptoms with e-cigs, no matter which kind i tried, and it only got worse, i ended up going back to regular cigs. Then several months later just quit cold turkey and havent looked back.

My son had an e-cig for a while, and some of those liquids were just plain nasty. We got them from different suppliers online, trying to find a deal. They are definitely not created equal. And I do think they have a point in the fact that there is no regulation of what is actually in the substance, or whether or not the nicotene levels stated are accurate, either, that is the point. Not unless you have a lab test it.

These products have only been out for a short while, so there is not telling what they do or don't do long-term, and even then, most of the folks using them already have a history of smoking - so how will you know what caused what? It's all just food for thought.

I think it is best just to breathe plain air as we were created to do, either way.

The base is not water, its propylene glycol or vegetable glycol (sometimes a mix). Either way, the base is food safe.

Its basicly a steam cigarette. I've yet to hear any reports of chefs getting sick because of the steamy environment they work in :P

A lot of people say the vegetable base is better for you than the propylene glycol base, but some are 50/50

People are going out of their way to prove e-cigs are bad for you, yet we know for a fact that cigarettes DO cause cancer,...Me thinks big tobacco industry not likey e-cigs and have the money and interest to start a giant smear campaign.

That is interesting I wonder what is in it or what is breaking down to form the molecule? I would still like to know where they got there vape liquid to test because I think your right regarding that. There are alot of shady dealers out there and questionable countries and sources.

vegtable glycerine not glycol. vg is the only one i use as propo glycol causes me problems, the tightness in the chest as prev described. Any way my ex is they are better for me than reg cigs. The juices are all a little diff.

nicotine alone is not bad for anyone.

Homosexual sex on the other hand is way more dangerous .
