That is such a rarity that it creates magic when it happens. While none of them were great musicians individually, what they lacked in skill they more than made up for in creativity and chemistry. Ringo, technically was a pretty average drummer, but if you look beyond that and critique his creativity in how he approached and played the song, it was genius. The music is timeless and classic because of it. |

They are as much of a "band" as N'Synch. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 44064172 That's flat-out absurd. While nobody in the Beatles was a virtuoso, or a 'musical genius', they were not at all similar to the casting call assemblies like N Sync. I think the Beatles' later work, the drug-addled 'artist' era, was extremely overrated however. Of course, it's what gets all the critical acclaim by 'rock journalists', but those people know as much about music as Barack Obama knows about successfully running an economy. |

The drugs made their music much better, nothing like the early "She loves Me Yeah Yeah Yeah" teeny bopper crap. |

The question is, who is the greatest American band? Allman Brothers. Duane Allman was a certifiable musical genius. Can't say that about any of the band of flunkies you listed. Lennon, Page, Townsend, and Richards were, and some still are musical geniuses, you fucking idiot. |

They were way ahead of their time and everyone tried to copy what they were doing along the way. Their legacy is unrivaled today and will remain so forever. They were simply at the right place at the right time and not only defined a generation, they defined an era. |

But if you take Affirmative Action aside, Allman clearly blows him out of the water too (I say this as an admirer of Hendrix, but ridiculous to name him #1 of all time), as he does your band of flunkies Lennon, Page, Towsnend, Richards, etc., Jeez, at least you could have listed Paige, who might have arguably been up there? |
