Anonymous Coward User ID: 45794088 United States 08/29/2013 03:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My room mate is killing me... I always have to cover his rent, and he is doing nothing to better his situation. I would just kick him out, but we are both on the lease. Another problem with him that is infuriating me is that I rarely drink, but when I do, I drink micro brews and good single malt scotch, which I like to keep it around in the rare event I want a drink... But he keeps drinking my very expensive beer and scotch and then lies when I ask him where all my beer went... I had a huge amount of scotch missing from my fifth and he at first denied it, and then admitted he had only taken a shot, which is bull shit, as close to a third of the bottle was missing. Quoting: ESP83 I have come home from work too many times to see he had eaten my dinner selection for the evening... I was tolerant for a while, because he would clean up the condo, as I have very little time to do so myself, as I work 10 hours or more Monday through Saturday every week, but lately he has cleaned nothing... This is very unfair to me and no matter how many times I tell him not to drink my booze or eat my food, he does and then lies about it. I consider myself a very nice person and don't mind helping Him, but now I feel he is taking advantage of my kindness and it is making me very angry. Give me some tips guys.... Main problem is that he is on the lease. I appreciate any help. Talk to your landlord about getting that dude off the lease. |

He hasn't even paid me for covering his rent last month, and I'm sure he doesn't have it this month either. Here's a story that made me so mad: first week we moved in before I got my room fridge(which he goes into and takes shit anyway now) I had four of my favourite beers I had been cellaring for two years... He drank all 4 while I was at work and has still not even tried to replace them, so any time he says he will replace something, it's a lie. I was in disbelief as I had told him not to drink them and I had been sitting on them for 2 years, and he drank them anyway. Last Edited by ESP83 on 08/29/2013 03:54 AM ESP83 |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 39617624 United States 08/29/2013 03:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You sound like a decent person. And this situation is causing you to have anger and even hatred for another human being. Anyone in you situation would be very angry. You need to remain calm and logical. Talk to him - when you are not angry - and let him no that the current situation isn't working. Let him know you still want to remain friends, but you can't continue to live with him and support him. Talk to the landlord maybe, and ask about your options. Maybe advertise the room for rent on Craigs List and find another honest, hard working person to take over the room. Good luck, and remain calm. |

Simple. He sounds cool being a drummer, so you should just tell him to knock it off and quit being a dead beat, tell him drummers should not be dead beats. You can call your band The Dead Beats. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 39617624 Have you told him to stay out of your room? Do you have a keyed lock on your bedroom door? 9 months Yes No, I need to get one, but that is shitty that he is forcing me to hide my shit in my room Ouch, 9 months is a long time. Well, the situation is already bad. A keyed lock on your door is only 20-30 bucks. It is a temporary solution until you figure out what to do long term. It will keep him out of your room and also send a message to him. |
