They feed us propaganda and then we accept their nonsense and take sides arguing and ranting about it instead of trying to make them address their nonsense. |
anonymous coward (OP) User ID: 43844903 United States 08/30/2013 07:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The basiss of the US Constitution as a highly respected document around the world was, no the motives of the writers, that it was reasonable. Our legal system when constructed was based on the reasonable man theory; what was reasonable to a reasonable man was legal, what wasn't was illegal. Since we disagree at times about what is reasonable we assembled a jury of our peers to decide. Our government and our justice system has long since bassed their actions on reason. That is why we have a tyranical goverment and no longer have meaningful law. The most fearsome thing in life are forces unmotivated and unresponsive to reason, whether it be a mad dog a phenomenal natural event or a government official. When our leaders takean unreasonable position or perform an unreasonable action and we respond with arguments of when or how it sshould be implemented istead of if or why it is valid we play right into their hands and are manipulated however they chose. When Condeleeza Rice made a speech in Europe in response to the criticism of the US torturing prisoners, she stated that the Us doesn't torture people and besides we do it to protect Europeans as well as Americans. I didn't see anyone in the mainstream media or the alternative news question that statement. Civilized societies for the last few centuries have rejected torture as a vile, vicious, sadistic, and unproductive act of depraved people. Yet we do it because we argued the legality of it instead of the reason for it. When we accept government actions without holding them accountable for the reasoning motivating those actions they lie to us and we end up having the proverbial government we deserve. |
