No radical islamist government in Syria this year :( All this plotting and scheming has only made Obama look like a total idiot. It's probably the most self destructive move he has made yet. I agree “One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.” – Carl Sagan |

He talked too much, too soon, and was stuck in a dead alley. Now, if Congress says he cannot do it, he will say "I wanted to do it, but Congress prevented me from doing it". He supposes that he will be out of the hook. What a joke! Everybody, including Assad and Russia, knows that! It's very strange to watch the USA in such a position! Given American opposition to a conflict with Syria, let me fix this for you. "It's very strange to watch our president in such a position." There! Let me fix this for you again: "It's very strange to watch the USA in the position of having such a man as 'president'". He was elected by the American sheeple, wasn't he? |

They must be torn between helping Israel and making O look like a fuktard. Quoting: Unixlike What makes you suppose that attacking Syria is "helping Israel"? On the contrary! If you cared to listen to the Israeli positions, they are very worried with the possibily of Assad falling. At least they know him and he is predictable. Not so with the Syrian opposition. Israel's main concern is the stockpile of chemical weapons. That's what they are closely monitoring, and their moves will be determined by the threats they sense on that direction. |

Quoting: Tony253 Huge difference. Hitler was marching across Europe. Chamberlain would not have faced international repercussions from standing up to the nazis. The Syrian gas attack is one of unclear perpetrators, with chances for much wider war if the attacks were carried out. Bombing Syria without them 1st attacking us is an act of war, possibly illegal and unconstitutional. |

Guys act like guys because they are guys...there is no need to project toughness or exaggerate...that is, unless they are compensating for something. Very frustrating... “My religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. From the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence, I must confess that I do apprehend some danger. I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their public servants, and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way they may be made the dupes of designing men, and become the instruments of their own undoing. Make them intelligent, and they will be vigilant; give them the means of detecting the wrong, and they will apply the remedy.” “If we abide by the principles taught in the Bible, our country will go on prospering and to prosper; but if we and our posterity neglect its instructions and authority, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm us and bury all our glory in profound obscurity.” -Daniel Webster |

Then Oblahblah was faced with a problem: If he didn't pin it on Assad - then what sort of sick evil fucks is he committed to hand over Syria to? - A.Q terrorist, Cannibals and Christian genociders we know - but this was a step too far, too monstrous for even MSM to ignore. Who supplied them with chem weapons? what is the Benghazi connection - a can of worms that he definitely wants nailed tightly closed. So...Assad it had to be, problem is no-one would really buy that without definitive proof. So - lots of bluster, smoke and mirrors, dicking around - and this is how it will end, Congress won't give assent but Obongo gets to pretend it was really Assad, can still support the FSA, and no-one asks any awkward questions: They probably came up with this strategy 20 mins after the attack! |

This makes me physically ill. All for a pipeline. Congress gets it - if they or Obomber harms one hair on the head of child in Syria, we will figuratively kick their asses (by voting) so far they will be knocking on the door of the ISS to be let in for lunch. |

I urge you to not support United States military action in Syria. Action in Syria would further anger the close allies of Syria such as Iran and Russia against the United States of America and could lead to a broader scale of war. We cannot afford to send out our tax-dollars or military assets to intervene in Syria's Civil War. The alleged chemical attacks in Syria by the Assad regime is terrible, but it is not the United State's duty to be the world police, especially with the economic state that our country is presently in. The proper channels to deal with this alleged chemical weapons conflict would either be the UN, who has proposed a diplomatic stance and the Arab League, who has stayed out of it so far. Syria is not the United States' business, so once again I urge you to vote no on military intervention in Syria! |
