I think he blinked.Obama felt the pressure from the murmurs in the crowd about another red line coming and going without action being taken by him. With this he rushed into it and basically publicly committed himself to a attack on Syria before realizing what he was up against.9% approval for Syrian aggression at home,England bailing on him and Russia warning him in no uncertain terms there will be consequences if he attacks. He has an agenda at home that we`re all too keenly aware of,and if his approval rating slips much more that agenda will become increasingly difficult to bring about. Oh and there's a second person that want Obama arrested as soon as he puts his feet on the ground in Sweden:

so now there's two different arrest warrants out there.

The nazis are also up in arms but don't think they will go protest. Especially since Obama apparently is going to visit the Synagogue of Stockholm because Raoul Wallenberg used to go there or something like that?!?!

Also a very tricky ambush spot where that Synagouge is placed. I would be worried if I was Secret Service, all sorts of drug dealing in the part next to it going on as well.

All it really does take for evil to triumph is for good men to do jack shit.

Thankfully, the good men - George Galloway, Vladimir Putin, Ron Paul, Pat Buchanan, Paul Craig Roberts, etc. (you know, all those horrible "anti-semites" scared) have finally gained some traction in the halls of Democracy, starting with Great Britain (my, how things have come full circle). Now the American Congress has to grow some balls and follow suit. Next the Military has to grow some balls and quit using "just following orders" as an excuse not to fight against Tyranny. And finally, the Sheeple need to turn off the porn and football, get their spiritual house in order, and prepare for battle.

The bastards are on the run. Let's keep it that way.

LOL!! You really are naïve, aren't you?

If he was being diplomatic, he would have asked Congress last week! He is being backed into a corner like the rat that he is, and probably has no other choice but to ask them. OR...he has a different plan of action. People like him, and the people backing him, ESPECIALLY the people backing him, don't give a rat's ass what Congress or the American people want.

YOU get a brain...or grow up. Idiot!

If he needed more time to get the facts straight, then why was he announcing that they are sure that Assad set off the chemical weapons? Why is he getting all the Navy in place? Why is he poking his nose into their business, in the first place?

I'm going to bet congress votes no, the rebels will gas more people. Our allies will distrust us; Iran will see this as a green light because we look weak and did not pull the trigger.

If the president wanted he could call an emergency session of congress and have the vote in less than 12 hours.

To say we are going to do something and just as we squeeze the trigger to stop and say never mind is a bad sign to our allies.

Russia threatened us 3 hours before the announcement. But they say the president came to the decision last night at 7 pm not to do the strike. The UN said the weapons inspectors leaving are not a green light for us to attack.

Congress is pissed, both sides of the isle are saying call an emergency session NOW. But they will vote not to attack as of right now. This is why the timetable is extended on the vote, so the rebels/terrorists can double down and gas more people in a more publicly appalling way.

Truth is dying from gas or dying from getting shot is still dying. We the US are arming the rebels. Congress is responsible, the president is responsible. If we wanted it to end we would stop arming them and it would be over in a month. As of right now the rebels need a few hundred tons of ammunition to continue the proxy revolution. We are going to give it to them and they will still gas people.

By the president saying “I can do this without congress but I won’t” and also to say “I have made the decision to attack but I won’t” then to say “all of us should be accountable” is for him to pawn of the responsibility on to congress + you and I for not wanting to attack another country in a “civil war” when the reality is we started this all by over throwing Libya with no plan and letting the weapons fall in to the wrong hands.

We are looking at a government shut down when congress goes in to session because the deficit has not moved in over 100 days, which is a lie. Now instead of that as the first order of business we have this attack as the first order. Well we have no money for the attack period.

President also called out our allies and that will not sit well with them, it was a bad move. We have lost 50+ years of progress, we are in a worse situation then we were pre WWII when it comes to strength of alliances and stability of Africa and the Middle East. We may just fall back in to a cold war due to the teetering of the fence we have done.

When you say you are going to beat the bully up, you better beat the bully up. Otherwise the bully hates the bully’s friend’s hate you and your friends now hate you for not doing what you said you were going to do and your credibility is gone.

Syrian rebels have obtained chemical weapons from Libya and are planning on using them on civilians, and then blaming it on Assad. This is an effort between the Syrian rebels and their allies in Turkey, alongside cooperation with Libyan rebels under Abdel Hakim bel Haj.
