Let's look at the facts einstein.

Tepco has been lying.
The only thing tepco has been able to do is to cool the site with sea water. (corrosion)
There are 3 runaway cores.
Leaking tanks.
300.000 tons of polluted water a day into the ocean
6 years before the whole ocean is contaminated (needs to be revised since the figures they used are lower that they are now).
1300 rods cannot be removed (do the math)
Tepco admits it is out of their control (that's the first truth they have told since 3/11.)
Mox fuel onsite.
Site is turning into a swamp.
Building 4 could collapse (just a matter of time)

Any one of these could force tepco to abandon the site.
Once that happends its over.

Japan is more concerned to preserve corporations then the health of their people and now we see that this is much bigger problem and it's a threat to all mankind because of the greed and selfish interests.

I find the idea of holding the Olympics in Japan incredibly insane if you think about it. What insane athletes are gonna want to compete (assuming breathing hard while competing) all those hot particles in that area? Also what insane people would even consider traveling to a country where they are having a major nuclear event going on, and this will be going on for many years.

The big question is "Why is Japan even putting any thought into having the Olympics when you would think that all attention, focus and resources would be put into dealing with Fukushima?

Many people complaining about Citizenperth want quick simple answers without making any effort doing their own research. You have to keep in mind that many people's livelihoods are heavily invested (besides TEPCO) and will take a longer time especially if they are in the industry to see the reality of nuclear past what they have been trained to know about nuclear and will fight to the end to defend it regardless of mutations and other horrors.

I don't think it takes a genius to see that having radiation pouring into the ocean is not a good thing and it's almost funny to watch people want to argue whether that's a bad thing. I can't imagine anyone arguing that point.

The real Doom of Fukushima will be when they have let the radiation get too high to even work on the area and have to evacuate it. That will be the grand finale. All we have been experiencing has been the opening credits but that will be the main show.

This supposed big event about them removing the rods from Reactor 4 can never happen as the number of people it would take because of the limited time they can spend (minutes before they reach their max exposure) would force them to have to have an unrealistic amount of people to complete the process.

Keep in mind that they have probably been using what they consider "their best and most experienced" workers so far. When the exposure level gets higher. they will be recruiting burger flippers and anything with a pulse. Imagine what the quality of the people they have to work with insane enough to commit suicide for their minutes.

Can't they freeze the groundwater somewhere upstream and let it find its own diversion route - then deal with that problem when it manifests itself.

I know they sometimes freeze ground with a high water table when they build foundations for low-lying structures, but I don't know how big an area we're talking about... though surely they have a good idea of the geology of the route the groundwater currently takes to reach the site.

Maybe pumping liquid nitrogen into the ground would work?

Of course, this has been going on for 2 1/2 years, every minute, 24/7.
