If the sshapoo is very bad it gets some dreaded frizz. My hair catches bad static during long flights, though. |

Car exhaust and a million other free floating chemicals that are killing you slowly. Inside, you are likely using household cleaners which are toxic. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8417922 Not saying caution is a bad thing...just saying that don't think because you cut out a certain shampoo, you are now safe. Science and chemistry have caused far more problems than answers. And if you have carpeting, and paint on your walls and you drive a car. All those materials emit cancer causing chemicals. Might as well live in a log cabin in the woods with no plastics |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 44768612 United States 09/01/2013 11:41 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I quit using chemical body products over 7 years ago. Make my own stuff. I had a natural body product company for awhile, taking a break for a year to build a new soap shop! :D I highly recommend looking/google into "No poo";) I saw someone recommend baking soda! That's perfect! I use a herb infused Apple cider vinegar as a rinse. I also keep a jar of honey in the shower for a conditioner, it's a natural humectant. My hair it thick, and to the middle of my back. I was terrified to try the"no poo" thing, your hair goes through a detox period...your hair can get greasy for about a week. BUT after the detox my hair was Amazing!! Lots of companies say and list natural ingredients...but read between the lines and do your own research. Just look up some the ingredients on your soap, shampoos and body washes! A Lot of ingredients are PROCESSED with chemicals, I avoid those to. I think more people would sell natural body products, but the regulations for labeling are pretty tough. :( I have to put the scientific names as well as the common names on the labels. :( it's just not a easy thing to design cheaply. Sorry for my little rant there! LoL Labeling is the bane of my biz!!! :p Lots of little companies like mine are fighting for all of you!!! Our world is full of chemicals and crap...I don't want to wash or slather myself up with them!!! Look into Shampoo bars, handmade soaps made by someone at a farmer's market, or etsy.com! Or make your own! Lots of recipes on the internet. My favorite suppliers for ingredients are brambleberry and new directions. =) |

I don't use makeup. My perfumes are all organic essential oils. Did I miss anything? |

[link to www.ewg.org] They explain what the ingredients are and why it's bad for you. :) LoL be warned though...be prepared to explain to your house mates why you have everything from the bathroom next to the computer! ;) Once I started looking everything up, I ran around to all the bathrooms and grabbed all the body washes and shampoos to look them up! (I don't use body wash any more, only bar soap I make!) |

They're even in dog and horse shampoo, where they're the completely wrong pH for the animals. Makes their coats nice and shiny and that impresses the owner(s), then they scratch themselves raw and people look to their vet for other causes of the issue. Dr. Bronners to the rescue! Just like with animals, the sodium lauryl and laureth make your hair look nice in the short term but dries your scalp and make it itch and flake. The chemicals are in both psoriasis and moisturizing shampoos. It's absurd and counter-productive. Other than for the manufacturer. You keep buying more thinking you're treating the problem when actually you're making it worse. |
