Re: Dream- Chicago Destroyed by Lake Michigan Tidal Wave
Does Chicago have a subway system with a Metro Center station? An Old Town area & Historic District and an historic Cathedral or very unusual old church? A large park with a decorative winding creek? This has been part of a recurring dream of mine since the late 1990s. Associated it more with WashDC than Chicago but the Great Lake just "rang a bell".

My only experience with Chicago has been the airports and RTC/NTC which is a bit away. That and the little town of Zion, and Waukegan.

Yes, subway system. The old town area sounds familiar because at the subway stop near Wicker Park there is a large church. The creek I'm not sure, could be Lincoln Park. I've visited there but didn't spend a lot of time there, but that did make me remember a bit

Re: Dream- Chicago Destroyed by Lake Michigan Tidal Wave
Your dream caught my eye. You see, I too had a similar dream, however, my dream was the aftermath of a horrendous event in Chicago. I have no reference to Chicago except that I visited there once long ago for a work conference.

So, in my dream I was attempting to get to a high school for some event (not sure what). It was probably around later afternoon, early evening. I was driving myself to the high school. I drove up onto the highway and there were these menacing, dark dark clouds ahead of me. I was sitting in traffic on this highway. The cars were like a parking lot - noone was moving anywhere. Then, I looked onto the road in front of my car and realized that the road was totally wrecked (pieces of debris and broken concrete were in the road, exposing holes and reebar (? - metal underpinnings?) below us. The highway was impassable.

In the dream, I thought to myself, "My relatives are not going to get to the high school, and neither am I." I felt like all was so devastated. Everything looked dark and charred and broken.

I woke up at this point. When I reflected on the dream I felt that I'd been on that highway after a devastating event. My first guess was an earthquake had happened, thus impacting all of the skyscrapers in the distance (I could see they were devastated in the distance as I sat on the highway). I also considered that it might've been an attack of some sort. I saw no fire, but it could have been after the fire had happened.

So, I've been very upset about this dream and was looking on YouTube and all to see if there was anything about an event such as this in Chicago. I did find one YouTube video whereby the dreamer showed exact visuals of what I'd seen in my dream. I will have to find it somewhere so sorry that I do not have the link. She was talking about a terrible military attack I recall. I had this dream 3 months ago and I felt that the event was during the fall of this year (2013) but I could not be sure. Timing is always tough to figure out.

I have since had 3 other earthquake dreams: 1) in Asia - I felt I was in Japan. 2) in Boston, MA where I used to work. I rarely have earthquake dreams and I did have a vivid dream of the Japanese earthquake and Tsunami about a month prior to the actual event on 3-11-2011. I also had an earthquake dream about 1 1/2 months ago that I thought might be in California or Washington State. I felt like it was the most devastating, vivid dream I've ever had. One could say that it will happen based on my previous precog dreams that I've had all of my life. However, one might argue that it's personal upheaval that is causing my subconscious to create these nightmarish earthquake dreams (times have been tough in my family). But, as my mom says, the vividness of the earthquake dreams are such that my record is that it may very well happen as I've seen the earthquakes in the dreams. God Bless and hope that Chicago will not be hit. With the world events that are currently transpiring in Syria and the threats of retaliation, the outside theory is that Chicago would be a primary target of America's enemies. Let's hope that I am utterly wrong. I've written alot because it's been bothering me for months now. Being a precog is no fun :(

I had almost the exact same dream a few months ago. Part of the city was like a wasteland and in ruins. Ashes were swirling around in the air. I posted about it on another forum.

This sounds like my "aftermath" dream which occurred several years prior to the earthquake dream. I posted it on page 1. Overturned cars, a sense of martial law and/or some kind war going on and an ET presence.

Weird ashes? Some people weird ashes? Weird ashes weren't in my dream but what could cause weird ashes? A comet? Some of kind of incoming space object? Can anybody describe the ashes in more detail in their dream? Were they toxic?

Interesting about the different elements of "random" people's dreams!

OP, yes in my recurring dream there is ash both in the air, a fine layer on buildings, and a deeper layer on the ground. Destitute and desperate people kicking up swirling clouds as they trudge along... Some going to "work", "the office", "to school" aware but not aware of the devastation around them. The ash was almost hypnogenic or able to induce a compliant trance-like state.

There were men sent out by both Federal and State agencies to search and apprehend or search and destroy anyone who was "different". By different, I mean capable of higher level functioning and independent thought. Those who could be apprehended were taken to medical facilities to be "studied" and the brains dissected while functioning.

Very strange dreams all of us...

Had a dream where I saw an earthquake at the western end of Lake Erie rise up and cause a wall of water to crash into western Ny State. Don't know about Chicago, but I can't imagine an earthquake like that would be good for anyone in the Great Lakes region

I did not get the impression they were toxic but they were in such large sheets I couldn't imagine how they held together as they fell and wondered what and where they had come from. I did not actually see the event in that dream - just the aftermath. There was no smell in the air and the sheets of ash were grey not black. I have never seen anything like them, or ashes nearly so large, in real life.

Had a similar dream. As a Canadian I never really dream about real places, especially American ones, so this was especially interesting for me. I posted the dream under this title in this thread here.

Thread: Earthquake dream

Within it the city of Chicago gets destroyed. First a major earthquake occurs, so massive I cannot guess to the intensity of it. The LAND beneath the city-- SINKS, so lake Michigan pours into the newly lowered earth and goes into a newly formed trench. It was so devastating that pretty much most of the city was dead within 5 minutes.

The most important 'feeling' that remained in the dream was that event is the real event that is the end for the US. It literally gets destroyed within a day.

Sure it is. One tiny itty bitty asteroid in the great lakes can do it.

Yes, and many have had vivid dreams of the Great Lakes spilling out over the nation with an earthquake and the nation being split in two. I was born in Ann Arbor and picnicked at the shores of Lake Huron when I was very young and recall how beautiful it was, it makes me sad.

Zion is an interesting little town. Right next to the nuclear power plant on the shore there's a camp site I went to once. I read the plant is not in service for cost reasons. Decommissioned but it still has radioactive material.

In the dream there was nobody in this section of the city. It was like a wasteland: grey, desolate, buildings were crumbling shells, overpasses collapsed... ashes falling. I am not sure if it was caused by man or nature, but I got the impression that air itself was toxic. Hopefully just a bad dream.

Re: Dream- Chicago Destroyed by Lake Michigan Tidal Wave
In 1977 I had an unusually vivid dream (I've only had one other comparable to it in my 56 yrs), while living in my first apartment located 20 miles due west of downtown Chicago. The area where the apartment was (and still is) located is one of the highest points in the County (DuPage). What was most memorable was the fact that I was looking out of my 4th story bedroom window and the area was completely flooded up to the very lowest part of the first floor of our building. All I remember of the dream is that scene, being puzzled by the flooding and being very thankful that I wasn't affected by it.

I just looked up the elevation of the area where I was living in 1977 and it's approximately 200 feet higher (780 ft. above sea level) than the elevation of Downtown Chicago.

If there's an earthquake, it might be. It would have to be powerful enough to sink the ground slightly. Unlikely yes. Impossible no.

The question is, why is Obama's DHS running earthquake drills in Chicago over the past 3 years? Earthquakes are possible in Chicago.

I currently live in the Chicago area. A few years ago I had a dream that a huge tidal wave completely wiped out the city. I looked out the window of my Oak Park home and could see people in the water flailing and screaming for help. The water subsided at my front door...I was trapped in my home. Scary!

Woah seriously I had a similar dream as well about Lake Michigan around the same time you had your dream, I'm pretty sure I posted it here too but I'll look for it, I usually post my dreams on here. I'm my dream I was walking near the lake and it was all choppy and the wave were going crazy and high, looked like tsunami's. the sky was all grey and it was raining.

Be back to post my original thread. I hope I put it on here

I had this dream about a month ago. I was facing east around 2-4 PM or so and I saw a giant tidal wave 20-25 stories high roar through Chicago and demolished buildings in its path. I was aware before the dream some Chuck guy had a similar dream so I may have been dreaming based on his dream, but this dream was very vivid.

Hopefully the GLP effect can kick in.

I just moved to the Deep South from Chicago, born and raised. I was attending school and my college would text alerts. About 3 days before I moved, I got an alert that my school was doing an earthquake drill. In my 46 years, never had I heard of Chicago doing earthquake drills. Someone told me it was a national drill-anyone hear that? It was a couple weeks ago. Anyway I'm sure most people were like wtf, I mean that is sort of like having a hurricane or volcano drill in Chicago. I've felt 2 tremors there my whole life from some new Madrid area shaking but they never went over 3. Something & no one ever speaks if earthquake preparedness. So why now the drill?

The article in the paper quoted someone from Vulcan Material saying they didn't do any blasting that day.
