...is kindergarden mandatory in the US?

This is a preschool education for children starting at the age of 5 years. not here, not yet, only elementary school is mandatory here (1st grade = 6-7y/o), but most people here go and dump their kids starting at 6 months old in kindergarten/daycare (same building) so the can go back to work asap, you know, priorities; homeschooling is illegal here tho. Homeschooling should be legal everywhere I am surprised that Germany won't allow this. What is the reason? Brainwashing.
