What did Jesus say about the ability of the faithful to recognize God? What Abraham saw in Genesis 18:
How was it that Abraham was able to recognize he was witnessing a manifestation of El Shaddai?

What did Jesus say about the ability of the faithful to recognize God?

When you walk with God and live a blameless life before the Lord, you immediately recognize Him when He calls to you: The sheep that belong to me listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me (Jn 10:27).

The Genesis narrative identifies the three men as the Lord who is accompanied by two other "men" who are messengers/angels (Gen 19:1, 15)

God, appearing in a visible human form and accepting the hospitality of a man will be repeated in the Gospels when God the Son, fully human and fully divine, eats and drinks with saints and sinners.

Because Abraham believed in God and walked in his presence and in covenant with him, the patriarch is ready to welcome a mysterious Guest into his tent.

Abraham's remarkable hospitality at Mamre foreshadows the annunciation of the true Son of the promised. After that, one God had confided his plan, Abraham's heart is attuned to his Lord's compassion for men and he dares to intercede for them with bold confidence...

What words in the narrative identify the quickness of Abraham's response to the visitation of his Lord?

As soon as he saw them he ran from the entrance to the tent to greet them Abraham hurried to the tent and said to Sarah, 'Quick, knead three measures of the best flour and make loaves.' Then, running to the herd, Abraham took a fine and tender calf and gave it to the servant, who hurried to prepare it.

Genesis 18:4-5:
Let me have a little water brought, and you can wash your feet and have a rest under the tree.

Let me fetch a little bread and you can refresh yourselves before going further, now that you have come in your servant's direction.' They replied, 'Do as you say.'

Abraham actually did see the Lord one day, when the Lord and two angels came to Sodom to confirm how bad things were there.

"And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day" (Genesis 18:1).

Abraham could have seen the Lord's day when he saw how the Lord sent His angels to spare the righteous man, Lot, from the fiery destruction that was to come. "And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.

Compare that with, "And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other" (Matthew 24:30,31).

Thirdly, even the matter of Abraham being willing to offer up his son Isaac, may have caused him to see the Lord's day, His sacrifice for us, and His resurrection. "And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of" (Genesis 22:2).

"And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together" (Genesis 22:7,8). Notice Abraham's terminology, "God will provide Himself a lamb."

Are you looking ahead to the Lord's return, and thus faithfully serving Him today? "I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work" (John 9:4).

HEBREWS 13:2

Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.

Re: What did Jesus say about the ability of the faithful to recognize God? What Abraham saw in Genesis 18:
FOR THOSE WHO HAVE EARS TO HEAR::::::

"' . . . Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.' Then the Jews said to Him, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?"

"Jesus said to them, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.' " (John 8:56-58).

This indicates a high probability that JESUS was the Yehovah whom Abraham saw that day on the plains of Mamre in the heat of the day. In Genesis 18:3, the word "Lord" is the same word as in verse 1, but is plural, which would seem to indicate that Abraham could not determine that they were heavenly beings --- for they appeared as men. It wasn't until after the three had eaten, verses 9-15, that Abraham realized the true identity of his visitors and their purpose.

The account recorded in Genesis 18 testifies to the very high esteem that Abraham held in the eyes of God.

That is why he is called "Abraham My friend" in Isaiah 41:8; why he is called God's "friend forever" in 2Chronicles 20:7; why in James 2:23 it states, " . . . he was called the friend of God". And, as an added twist, Abraham had been circumcised just THREE DAYS before meeting the three visitors!!

Genesis 19:2-3: 19:2'My lords,' he said, 'please come down to your servant's house to stay the night and wash your feet. Then you can make an early start on your journey.' 3'No,' they said, 'we shall spend the night in the square.' But he pressed them so much that they went home with him and entered his house. He prepared a meal for them, baking unleavened bread, and they had supper.

I IMAGINE IF WE KNEW THE LORD OF ALL CREATION AND HIS MESSENGERS WERE COMING TO OUR HOUSE WOULD WE BE PREPARED?

WHAT KIND OF MEAL WOULD WE PREPARE?
WHAT WE OFFER TO THEM SO THEY WOULD STAY AT OUR HOME?

I wasn't aware Jesus' doctrine of love was demon-inspired.

I guess you learn something new every day...lol.

Please, go back and read the message. Light cannot come from darkness. Love is light, God's light.
