A thought occured to me and I'm not exactly sure about it. If something severe were to happen in my area, I'm going around my neighborhood to check if everyone is alright.
Scenario: Earthquake just happens, I have my first aid kits on hand ready to go, the first house has only three patients that are a bit shaken up, second house has an individual who went into cardiac arrest.
Would I stay and play (CPR)? Or triage the victim as black and move on to another house who may need medical care?
I'm sure local EMS would be overwhelmed, triage applies to mass casuality incidents which I'm sure would be the case here.
Also, If something were to happen like that in your area, would you go door to door to check on people? |
