So as we most know comet ISON is a comet. so why do so many people like to drag it on as being more?

To answer your question, because they've seen the pictures and can see that it is not a comet nor is it a single object. There are three objects flying in formation. Or it is one very large, very cool looking ship and we only see the lights on it.

Here ya go, this is the best video I've seen on Ison weirdness so far. I'm not space expert but it looks like somethings up with this comet, doesn't look like a giant snowball to me.

When comet Hale-Bopp was in the news I was a big follower of Art Bell. He had the infamous "Major" Ed Dames on trying to peddle pictures showing Hale-Bopp with multiple nuclei. (Still no clue at all why that was supposed to be a big deal then or now with ISON.)

A guy a few days later said he was an astronomer at Mauna Kea and he had a copy of the picture before someone edited it. (And indeed it seemed to be the case, the only copies with the multiple cores coming from Ed Dames.)

Dames never apologized for this cheap stunt. It is after this that the Heaven's Gate incident occurred.

As with Sandy Hook or the Boston Bombing one must take that incident with a grain of salt. Art Bell was blamed for the suicides even though I think by that time he had pointed out the fakery.
