I am on FB right now and some dude from the Middle East messaged me. No mind you my FB is set to very private, no one can search me on the web for that site and we have ZERO common friends on there. So how is it that this person found me and is sucking up to me to try and be his new found friend?

If you "like" an article or comment on sites associated then people will be able to get in touch. Also Facebook resets your privacy settings every time they have a refresh which I presume was recent due to the change of logo. I hope this puts you at a little ease.
