Most Americans could go a week without food and still not miss a shit. We eat too much.

Most Americans are sorely lacking in a functional *practice* of faith, and this is the defining element of our weakness. No man shall be tested beyond his capacity. But to find that limit of capacity, he must be tested mightily. The tests we are subject to are not to hurt us, but to purify us. Those who have never been tested, have never been proven. God accepts only gold tested and "proven by fire, seven times". What this means is a mystery - prophesy is not our teacher, it's sole purpose is as proof of God's word - both His warnings, and His promises. To demand any other service from prophesy is a sin against the Holy Spirit. That I do not soak my words with religious references is not a lack of faith - it is simply that I demonstrate my faith through actions, first, and through words last. People will accept almost anything to avoid pain and suffering. Even slavery. Ironically, it is only through pain and suffering do we become greater and finally free. The path to enlightenment is never easy or just given to us. We must earn our advancements. There is no other way.
