maybe this will put the prohibition of marijuana into perspective for all the tobacco enthusiasts that don't toke up.

I used to be one of those people, I'll be honest. I was smoking 2 packs a day but frowned upon pot, despite the fact I smoked it like crazy when I was younger.

Now I use an ecig and in the last few weeks have started smoking pot once in awhile at night if I'm having trouble sleeping. haha ;)

This is common practice and has been done for over 15 years.

Employers don'twant to deal withy sstinky people, more likely to have drug and alcohol problems, that regardless of that, are a guarantee to have a higher cost to them for health insurance.

Europe and Russia have more than triple the amount of smokers, and have less than double the rate of "smoking related" diseases.

You need to ask yourself why.

The taxpayers of that county are the ones who have to pick up the tabs for all the sick time, healthcare costs and unproductive smoke breaks for their civil "servants". You mean to tell me that they should have no say in cutting those costs? What kind of republic is that?

This is because of Obamacare, the rates on smokers and overweight people are going to be absolutely prohibitive to employers. This won't be the last time you hear about this...

I posted two days ago on this. Its all over Obamacare. The healthcare costs are going up for smokers so the county is trying to save money by discriminating against smokers.

And theres nothing smokers can do cause its been ruled smokers dont have legal protection.

Well, health insurance is always compared to car insurance. Why shouldn't a smoker pay a higher rate or some other type of penalty just like a bad driver or DWI driver pays higher auto insurance rates?

God I hate all this anti smoking stuff. It made it hard to quit, because I wanted to keep smoking just to spite them. Cigs are good, smoke 'em if you can. I can't but that doesn't mean I'm against them.

Thats not the issue, smokers have always paid slightly larger premiums than nons. Its the fact of oblablacrap raising the rates so ridiculously high that the county cant handle it so theyre forced to do something like this and 'ban' smokers from employment.

I still smoke weed and drink way too much beer, but that is my business and prerogative to do so, just like smokers in Florida, Nazism even for goodness sake is still Nazism, change the laws or get sued for discrimination.

I quit smoking over a year ago, and I still want to light up every single day. I guess I was hardcore hooked.

Smokers have hitler's view also if they force their smoke on people who don't want it. I have rights my business does not have smokers, and I have that right to not allow them in my business smoking and I have the right to not hire them.

Youre right, you do. Yet you cannot explicitly say 'i dont hire smokers'. Certain laws prohibit the direct discrimination in the hiring process.

Good. When I interview someone I am so turned off if they smell like smelly fucking cigarette smoke. They can take their stale smelling ass somewhere else, I can always find a legitimate reason not to hire someone who stinks of it. I'm not going to hire someone just so they can go outside once an hour to suck down a cigarette on MY dime. Non-smokers are more productive, friendlier, and just generally better employees because they don't throw little bitch tantrums that they blame on not getting their precious cigarette when needed.
