Tape your cameras, unplug your microphones. Delete all data. Turn off. Keep in a faraday cage. Above all, just don't have what you don't need. If you have it, use it for all kinds of spurious things. |

I went to buy a new cell phone and had to sign a governmental wavier of rights to allow the NSA to continue spying in order to even have a cell phone... No idea where that one came from. They can read your text messages. And if your GPS module is on, they can track your specific location. If it's not on, your general location can be triangulated, accuracy depending on cell density. |

uscrusader1 User ID: 9491757 United States 09/09/2013 09:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Windows? The surveillance is done with the OS in Windows, a closed system. Apple's IOS is the same, jailbreaking can get you into the OS to shut things down. Android is an open OS, you can see what's going on. Getting root control can shut down over 50% of installed applications, useless&surveillance apps, Google, Carrier, hackers. But then there's the weakness of the actual comms. There are real time Android txt and voice encryption apps, again open source(no back doors), that would give feds a 10yr headache to crack. But nothing like this cross-platform(except$). :securitycomp: Last Edited by uscrusader1 on 09/09/2013 09:49 AM |

Funny thing is that these days the more technoligically backward a country is it has more private freedoms... You give the military too much credit. The military has always been decades behind in a lot of technology, what makes you think a lot of this stuff existed in the military before it went public? Just look at military equipment right now, it's old junk. If you read a lot of the declassified documents, much of the reason why documents are classified is to hide the fact how far behind the military actually is and how much it actually costs. The military has always been heavily bureaucratic and heavily corrupted, two things that seriously stifle any innovation. |
