Who else felt the extremely eerie silence/stillness/voidness outside a few days ago?

I was outside walking the dog here on the east coast a couple days ago...must have been around 8 pm and dark...and I experienced something I never felt before...
there was absolutely no sounds outside..no wind...no traffic...nothing at all. I mean it was quieter outside than in my house!
This wasnt just a silence but a total stillness in the time/space around me..reminded me of that movie " The Langoliers" where a plane landed in a strangely quiet alternate reality....matches wouldnt burn..soda wouldnt fizz..footsteps wouldnt echo...
Did I imagine this or did anyone else feel this "void" outside few days ago??

As though the world was suddenly a painting instead of what it normally is. No explanation from me, but yes, we have noticed this for a while. we are on the Delmarva Peninsula.
