When will we be able to see ISON without a telescope?

End of November if it reaches its predicted Magnitude.

According to that website, it should be already visible with a telescope, but as far as I know it is not.

How long will it be visible, and where will it be in the sky?

Ok so what does this mean. Does anyone know how many earth radius-es away it will be when it passes? cause if its inside 6 could that mean do0m?

It can be visible for weeks. Usually at its brightest during Sunrise and Sunset. But the tail should still be visible through the night I think. So far, ISON is not brightening as thought, but we will know very soon.

I was under the impression that it was brightening faster than expected, not quite sure why I thought that, but that's what I thought.

Ugh. I sure hope so. I don't want to be disappointed. You don't want to see me disappointed! But not that much longer left. It still is at +12 Magnitude.

It's closet approach to Mars is 6 million miles according to the model.

Oh, sorry, you said Mercury, didn't you? Blonde moment. Mercury closest approach is 20 million miles then? How could that be? Looks to come even closer to Mercury, than to Mars on approach.

Remember to rotate the image in all three dimensions, then it should be clear.

It does come within 3 million miles of Mercury on Dec 10th though, again, this is according to the model.

Change the angle and you'll see it passes south of Mercury.

Yes, if you drag the date tab below the model to Dec 10th, ot shows mercury as 3 million miles from ISON.
