If you cannot communicate with the Father it is because of your own distractions, whether it be substance related, other being related or just your own noisy mind. The reason there were so many that could hear the Father in the days of old is there were less distractions and even they had a hard time. I know this and even I have a hard time dealing with it.

I have heard many things from The Holy Spirit. But it works both ways, you have to cultivate a relationship by reading His word. Otherwise, the silence continues. For crying out loud, this is God, creator of the universe, and we are a tiny speck, so show Him you have love and respect. Start reading the bible, and the revelations come.
