Do you remember where you were when you first heard about 9/11?
POLL: Did you think we were being attacked/invaded on 9/11?

I remember crawling out of bed and turning on the tv, and being stunned. I froze for hours just watching all that. I was in disbelief.

I remember wondering if this was it, whether we were being attacked on all fronts. That morning was super surreal. Just out of grad school and unemployed, wondering if that was it.

I was at work when a chatbuddy told me some airplane hit the WTC. I expected some Chessna or something. So I didn't care much intil the 2nd plane hit.

The first one was terrifying enough, but when the second hit, man.

Yeah, a stunner of a day! What a shock to see! When I heard a plane had hit the WTC, I knew it had to be deliberate. The day is burned into my memory! So sad!
I remember thinking how did they get the names of the hijackers so quickly? Complete with pictures!!! They had them on tv the first day!

I was at school when the first plane hit. I believe it was geography class.

When I got home I found my mum staring at the TV, a look of shock on her face. Took me a few moments to register what was happening and then it sunk in as the reporters kept repeating 'airliner flown into World Trade Center' then saw the second one crash and oh my fucking god! Scared the shit out of me.

yeah that was nuts. I was thinking, "how will they ever catch these people? who knows what can happen on board, etc" but lo and behold, it all unfolded very fast.

Believe it or not, I was on GLP when I first heard about 911. It was early afternoon and I then watched it all unfold before me on the BBC.

Seems like a lifetime ago.

I was at fort Sam Houston in San Antonio Texas. We had just gotten a break from class (medic) and were at the "gut truck" to get a morning drink.

I remember very clearly, the man on the radio joking about some "idiot pilot flying his little plane into the wtc on accident"

Yeah..

Interestingly, Mr. G.H.W. Bush can't seem to remember where he was when JFK was assassinated. How's that possible?

Everyone who was not in a coma can remember the exact circumstances when something extraordinary happened. I know of no one who could not remember about 9/11.

I had a flat tire that morning before heading off to college which I canceled going to after the attack started. My boyfriend was from NYC and he called me inside to see it after the first tower was hit. After the second tower was hit and we stood in horror, I will never ever forget him saying, I swear, if I didn't know better I would think that is demolition. I became awake that day. It was surreal.

I was working as an accountant in a building wedged between Regan National Airport & I-395 just outside Wash DC, when the plane that struck the Pentagon ripped the antennas off the top of our building.

I dove under my desk about 1 second before the Pentagon exploded.

Walked home that day barefoot -- I worked in a suit & heels -- got my daughter from Montessori and held her tight.

I do remember.

I was in my bed, trying to prolong my sleep, as my mother opened the door and said: "There has been a huge terrorist attack in New York! It is terible! Wake up and come see the TV!"

I said "Oh comon, not again these Americans with their false flag attacks! So they want to start a war again! I don't wanna listen to their lies! Give me a break and leave me alone, please!"

I was at the Clear Lake Hilton (Houston)waiting for coworkers to come down to the lobby. I went outside to have a smoke and when I came in I saw a group of people all watching the tv.

Needless to say we didn't do anything else the next several days.

No.

I heard the sound & thought a plane had crashed into our building. I dove under my desk. After the explosion, I climbed out & saw the Pentagon on fire across the highway from my office window.

I did know about the first plane hitting the WTC at that time(thought it was a small plane), but did not know about the second. I was working hard on a fiscal deadline & did not have time to consider that more than a terrible accident had happened.
