Aliens should explain why impossible "coincidences", aka synchronicities, happen all the time on people's lifes.

Why they don't explain that?

Why?

Because that person would probably be prosecuted and either fined or locked up…

It's not unfathomable to think that someone with the know how (and there were a lot of ham radio enthusiasts back then) would be able to do it and get away with it.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 46403027

That wouldn't be the case now.

Back then, yes - hell of a risk for a ham operator to take. No doubt if he was caught, a large fine or prison would be the result.

So why do it?

If he couldn't tell anyone about it and enjoy the kudos of his fellow ham operators, what would be the point?
 Quoting: BadMoonRisen

Oh yes you're right. It was aliens

Perhaps it was several involved all together and they got all their kicks from knowing between themselves that they were responsible.

Here's another one that happened in 1987. Even more bizarre, but none of the alien stuff in this one...

I still get a kick out of the folks who call bullshit on everything they cant wrap their minds around, as if to say no I don't or cant except any alternate view on subjects like extraterrestrial involvement. simple minds like to keep it simple.

Or conversely those who ignore a relatively simple explanation in preference of 'it was aliens"

Many technology experts aren't so sure - maybe they should ask you? jerkit

This was in 1977 - pretty difficult to hack into a television network back then.

Unless you know different Mr Expert?
 Quoting: BadMoonRisen

It was absolutely possible to under certain circumstances. From the Wiki...

"At that time, the Hannington UHF television transmitter was unusual in being one of the few transmitters which rebroadcast an off-air signal received from another transmitter (Southern Television's Rowridge transmitter on the Isle of Wight), rather than being fed directly by a landline. As a consequence it was open to this kind of signal intrusion, as even a relatively low-powered transmission very close to the receiver could overwhelm its reception of the intended signal, resulting in the unauthorized transmission being amplified and rebroadcast across a far wider area. The IBA stated that to carry out a hoax would take "a considerable amount of technical know-how"[4] and a spokesman for Southern Television confirmed that "A hoaxer jammed our transmitter in the wilds of North Hampshire by taking another transmitter very close to it."[2] However, like the Max Headroom broadcast signal intrusion a decade later, the identity of the intruder was never confirmed."
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 44848969

That's the part that intrigues me.
 Quoting: sweetnsour

Well, could be a number of reasons. Perhaps because of the technical know-how / equipment involved, the person who actually did it may have lost their job and subject to even more serious consequences if they came clean. Maybe they planned to when they retired, but they never got as far as retirement in life. Could be anything.

The real clue is the English accent of the supposed alien voice. Quite convenient don't ya think!?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 44848969

Like I said before, that is the part that says hoax to me. But, to be fair, how else would an alien speak to the UK?

Re: 1977 Southern Television Broadcast Interruption, Aliens or Hoax?
Reading about this and other broadcast hyjacking reminded me about the few times in the last couple of years I have seen small porno clips inserted into movies shown on the Chiller cable channel. Has anyone else seen such and if so, is there a term for this?

For example this last year on the Chiller channel during the showing of a zombie movie, there was a little image of two woman engaging in oral sex. I only noticed it as a flash image and only saw it better thanks to my TiVo were I could back it up and play it one frame by frame, this is the same thing that Dirk suggested in the movie Fight Club. This isn't the first time I caught such on this channel but this example was the most hard core that I have caught, I did in fact grab the screen with my cell phone camera if anyone wants to see proof.

Granted it's not the same as alien broadcast but proof that even in 2013, such is still possible.

Several HAM OP's did it altogether maybe, getting their shits and giggles from within their own little circle?

You don't have to tell the whole world about something you once did!. Especially in the 70's, pre internet, it's not like today where half the world seems to delight in telling the rest of the world what they've just had for breakfast. Many GLP threads are testament to that.

President Eisenhower turned down the Annunaki back in the 1950's for their offer of peace, prosperity and unlimited energy for the world in exchange for nuclear disarmament. He made that decision based on fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of vulnerabiility, fear of being conquered. Fear always holds you back, a person or a civilization does not progress or advance in fear. Love, compassion and cooperation is the only way we can all *win*
As for the message, it rings true and is just as relevant today as it was back then. But I do think more people are awake now, and maybe approaching a critical mass to move our societal complex to the next level.

The only question I have:

At that time, 1977, did the synthesizers already were out in commercial, or not. If we have question to that, we will know if the transmission was alien or not.

I always wondered that, but even so, if weren't commercial could still be under study or hidden technology, as we all know TPTB will just make public only obsolete (for them) technology.
