The question whether people would vote for Putin/Medvedev in case of presidential election is not even mentioned in the original survey. Don't you think it's kind of strange and the article you posted looks very much like

What I said was that I think 75% looks more realistic than 90%. I'm not a socioligist. I draw my conclusions from what I see and hear around me. Many people do support him and his approval rating will probably grow after the latest events in Syria.

Putin MAKES UP the poling numbers and rigs the elections. Whatever you may think about him, he is not the much beloved leader who was somehow magically elected 3 times.

He served from 2000-2008, set up a puppet president who elected him as Prime Minister, and then changed term limit regulations so he could serve another six. Have you forgotten the massive protests that went on when he did this?

He is a former KGB agent who has completely usurped Russia's democracy. He's killed so many people that oppose him that no one dares try to depose him. He is very close to becoming the next Hitler in scope of power and influence. Wikileaks described the Russia regime as a Mafia state.

His economy has largely improved thanks to the fact that he raised taxes on the rich by introducing a flat tax of 13%, which Republicans balk at here because they claim it would "destroy the economy."

Do you want to know true numbers? - last Sunday in my town
on election voted only 25% of voters. Ask why? Because these elections were held under the slogan "These thieves themselves voted".

Another reason is Putin's approval is so high (and it is high) is because Vladamir Putin is a Christian Conservative. He speaks openly of Christianity in public. He endorses Christian solutions to societal problems.

Russia seriously is a Christian Nation with over 80%

That's exactly what's wrong with many of us. All we can do is criticise others. But we don't want to lift a finger when we get the chance to change something. We just keep on waiting while somebody (a president, a tsar whoever) will appear and turn our lives into a fairytale.

The trouble is that things just don't work this way. In America and in Europe people used to fight for their freedoms and rights. You can vote with your feet and keep on criticising Putin, just don't complain that those who are actually voting and doing something have things done the way they want them to.
