a question for anyone that's Jewish
So if you don't believe Jesus is the Messiah, who do you think is? Also the OT is in the version of the Christian Bible just as it is with the Torah. So explain to me how our Bible is not right but yours is? Just curious

Re: a question for anyone that's Jewish
OK, I will try to answer your questions. There is no person who is the Messiah. The Messiah is a time period when there is peace throughout the world. Elijah is supposed to come down from Heaven to Earth to herald the Messiah but he is not the Messiah, just the announcer. Elijah is known as the only person to have ascended to Heaven w/o first dying. At Passover, we set an extra cup of wine on the table for Elijah in the hope that he will come down from Heaven and visit every Seder and announce the coming of the Messiah.

The Torah scroll contains just the first five books of what Christians refer to as the Old Testatment, which is our entire Bible. We don't believe or use the New Testament.

So why is it you don't believe in the in the NT at all? I had a friend tell me that the NT was written by some Romes in ancient times and it's all fiction, whereas someone else said the NT comes from some very old tablets before the Bible was even written. So do you guys believe in Jesus at all? There is mention of him in the OT.

There are so many names for Jesus. I for one have had very vivid dreams of his return along with an image of his face appear on my door one night. I do believe the end times are getting closer if not hear already. I am not Jewish but have faith and spirituality.

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

Would that be a good place to start, if you wanted to be a "good Jew"?

If so, there's a lot of Jews that will be very unhappy if they don't start following the rules.

Calling for someone who is Jewish to respond to a questions is a wide field. What do you mean by Jewish? Are you referring to a religious person that ascribes to a sect of Judaism? If so, which one? A wide variation between Kabbalah, orthodox or messianic (they believe Jesus is the messiah?)

Or are you referring to what is considered an ethnic Jew? Still a wide field. You have groups of Jews like hakohen that are predominately ancestors of the tribes of Israel.

You have groups of European Jews that are part of the ashkenazi jews who predominately come from ancestors who converted to Judaism between 740ad and 900ad. Many are neither followers of Judaism or ancestors of israel, but simply identify as Jewish because their ancestors identified as Jewish.

You have palestenians who have been shown to be descendants from israel with paternal markers as high as 82 percent, compared to paternal markers of the Jews in israel at 70 percent.

The definition of a Jew has caused wars and genocide for centuries. Palestine vs israel for example.. The Palestinians contain a greater percentage of hereditary lineage from israel than the Jews in israel due to the large percentage of jews in israel who are not at all descendants of israel but instead descendants of european converts to judaism in the dark ages. (quoted between 30 percent and 54 percent by tel aviv university)

Israel accepted the 16 percent of Palestinians that identified as Jewish historically and religiously and they became citizens of israel in 1948.

Would hitler have massacred German Jews if he would have acknowledged this distinction between various jews? Was his massacre motivated by this distinction?

Not all Jews are the same and some are not jews to other Jews. My family now identifies as German American. My family was a Jewish convert family that identified as jewish until the 1780s and then converted to Catholicism in north Rhine. In 1890 they took a trip to the USA and most forgot their "Jewish" heritage.

Bottom line, I believe in Jesus/Yeshua as the messiah. Many of my close friends that are descendants of israel by blood also believe in Jesus/Yeshua as the messiah. 8 percent of Arab palestinians in israel that descend from the lineage of israel believe in Jesus/Yeshua as the messiah.

The number of current Christians whose previous lineage identified as Jewish far exceeds the just over 6 million current people who identify as Jewish.

I do celebrate the Holy Days. Just a little more than 5 hours to go. I don't celebrate all of the holidays in accordance with current prevalent traditions. For example, I don't pretend sell my liquor cabinet. I do abstain from leaven when appropriate. I have spent the past week and a half with much prayer and fasting in preparation for today. I also still go see my cousins and relatives at baptism and first communion in the family Catholic Church. I am not catholic. There is a lot of diversity in the real world. Don't buy the official propaganda, it is rarely an accurate depiction of the individuals.

Don't ask me why Christians do what they do. And not all Christians are alike. I am just learning about the Bible although I have believed in Jesus since I was little. I am just asking questions to find out why. This is why I don't like all the branches of religions. They all have different views on beliefs. I go by the whole bible and not just the first 5 chapters. TO each it's own I suppose.

But then again so did the Jews ....God gave the Law to Moses who then gave it to the Jews ...who then went and added to it ....espically when the Jewish people were captives in Babylon

There's all kinda of things that Jews follow today that never was in the Law of Moses

How long have you all been waiting for this messiah? can't you see you're just retarded? doublefacepalm
"White privilege" is the liberal religion's version of Original Sin: you are born guilty, and you carry that burden of guilt all your life, and the only way to escape eternal damnation is for white people confess their sin, to bow, kneel and believe the dogma of the Church of Liberalism, genuflect at its altars, honor its saints, fill the collection plate, and never, ever doubt.

Re: a question for anyone that's Jewish
The sources for information regarding lineage from Israel are a bit choppy. The "jew" gene or cohen gene is a bit of an arguing point.

Here is a link with results from a study done by Israel, Germany and India.
[link to www.freerepublic.com]

Here is a link to a narrative.
[link to www.hope-of-israel.org]

I will scan in a few studies I have and upload to a site. Not tonight. The percentages of non-blood jews can be debated. The fact that a certain percentage are conversion jews from the dark ages is not disputed.

I left one out, The black hebrew israelites also consider themselves the "true jews" who have been supplanted by the modern jews. This is mostly rejected by anyone outside of the hebrew black israelites. The exception being the ethiopian jews that were certainly black. Solomon created a black jewish lineage and that is commonly accepted as fact. The black hebrew israelites, who identify themselves as the true jews, also come in different denominations. Some believe in Jesus as messiah, some believe along the lines of orthodox and other kabbalah.

With regards to the comment by someone who identifies as a jew that "the messiah is not a person", well that would definitely be the minority opinion of people who practice judaism. Most people who practice judaism believe that the messiah has not yet come, but that he is a person. I'm speaking in the masculine, but I have met those that believe the messiah could be a woman.

Kabbalah has as many views about such things as the variations in christian denominations. The consistent attachment between groups of kabbalah is connected to the mystic aspects of judaism and is not consistent on other jewish doctrines.
