How you can build a Holographic Cube
which can store 10000 TB of data
Holograms are 3D projections or images made by using mirrors and light and lasers in the modern times :)
A holographic cube is a small cube with a side of 2,3 cm made of layers of optical surfaces,much like DVDs and CDs are made today
The process was discovered by a Romanian engineer back in 1992
There was much stirup in the press at that time
In order to read and write data we will need a laser pointed at the surface
the laser will penetrate all layers and read all info stored there
the beautiful part of the hologram is that once you break it into multiple pieces it actually replicates itself
so break the cube
you will have more info available now,not less!
of course the main problem is the low reading rate
3 KB/sec back in 1992
since then the invention was sold to Sony and sony created a cripled disc version called the Blu-Ray drive
because the laser is blue
but you can put 6 lasers on all 6 surfaces of the cube
the reading and writing rate is now in the domain of MB/sec
put 12 lasers,one for read one for write on each side
we get GB/sec
and so on
the latest on this tech:
if you bathe the cube into multiphasic alternating blue light produced by an alternating laser
you get TB/sec
