I heard someone say on TV that the situation was fluid.

The latest reports from Denver say nearly 600 are missing.

we aren't all that way but by and large, if it isn't "at our doorstep" as we say, yes people don't care. Not all, but alot. People are obsessed with celebrities.

The potheads killed all of these people indirectly.

Town of Glen Haven is ruined, along with 34, their access road. I have friends there and am wonderin how they'll get along now

36 and 66 completely flooded in Lyons.

With 36, 34, & 7 there's no way out of Estes Park/North Range other than Trail Ridge Road at 12000 feet to get over the divide.

I feel a little bad about my rant, it's different here, like we all pretty much have the same accent no matter which state we come from, and we have a lot less people to worry about. It's just something I noticed on GLP that Americans look at their fellow countrymen as strangers just because the live in a different state. Anyways sending positive thoughts to the people affected.

No flooding, but a fuckton of water non-the-less. I get off work late at night and since I'm a night owl I sometimes go to 24/h Micky Dees after work to use their wifi. That's what I did Thursday because there was a break in the weather (I walk), but ended up getting stranded there until 8 AM the next day because, wouldn't you know it, it started pouring even worse half way through the night.

But yeah, I bought an umbrella because we're going to get more downpours, though more sporadically, for the next few days. We just had a hellish mix of hail n' sideways rain for a few hours earlier today. The speed with which the weather changes here makes the town very susceptible to flash floods. Never seen anything like it till I moved here.

I hope Estes Park wasn't packed. Is the affected area the same as the Big Thompson Canyon Flood in the 70's?

How many people or homes have no way in or out of where they are? I was looking at photos in the Denver post and all those roads are gone.

A sensible way would be only counting people who have families who are making lots of noise and are going to have obituaries, funerals etc. Anyone not commented on will vanish.

That's not the case for everyone. People are people wherever you live. Some will care and others are heartless evil people. I for one am extremely saddened. Do you know how badly affected Estes Park is in terms of property damage, how many injured or unaccounted for?

Lived here most of my life in Longmont, Lyons and Boulder. Been watching Doom on GLP for some time with interest. This has impacted me, family and friends in a way that that makes me wonder how close to the end we are.

Colorado residents are bracing themselves for further flooding and devastation, with more storms due to hit on Sunday.

More than 500 people are missing and at least four people have died, with another victim believed to be dead, after flash floods.

It's happening in my state and I don't give a shit.

I have food, water, fuel and a filter. I'm on high ground by design. I spent years to avoid being in a mess like these folks are in, and it's not even winter.

Get a tent to high ground and just relax.

Just because they are "missing" doesn't mean they are dead, for Christ's Sake. They are simply cut off with no power, and no roads to get out
