Woo-woo, in my mind, is a bit of a luxury that becomes harder to engage in or justify when times get tough. Philosophizing strikes me as a "full-belly" activity, and judging from the way prepping et al has gone mainstream, people have lately taken to devoting their attention to more pressing matters, which is a shame in that spiritual growth has to take a back-seat to mammalian survival.

After there was no doom in Dec 2012, following the years of massive build-up, mainstream jumping on board, movies associated with it, etc, people just lost interest or just plain gave up.

Also, there was no alien disclosure or ascension at that time. and Timewave Zero was also a crock of shit.

Essentially, there were many doomtards, ascensiontards and ETtards with the same particular date in mind. They took it seriously and invested time researching (and watching horrible lengthy youtube vids), and wasted resources and money in something that never came.

That caused a big impact on how it's the way it is today. Even people who weren't even remotely interested in conpiracy or 2012 doom felt a bit bummed out after nothing happened on the 21st of that year due to the constant attention and hype built in the years leading to it, even though they didn't believe in it.
