Stupidest thing Obama has said yet - 'A Robot Can't Build A Road'
[link to www.businessinsider.com]

Robots are perfect for building roads. What an idiot.

Here's the first article I found proving his stupidity and laziness for not even bothering to check for sources.

From the Dept of Transportation, no less...
[link to www.fhwa.dot.gov]

"When the Office of Advanced Research was established in April 1992 at the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center, robotics -- robot and automation technology -- was made one of the six key areas of research.

Robotics has been used extensively in many fields because it enhances workers' safety, increases production efficiency, and improves the quality of products. It is important to introduce and to encourage use of this technology in highway transportation.

As an ultimate goal, robotics can be used in all phases of highway transportation: production of highway material, construction of highways (including quality control), highway maintenance and operations (including inspection and monitoring), and performance in hazardous and difficult-to-access environments. So far, its use in highway transportation has been limited."

You could put ANYTHING in that sentence as a substitute for 'robot' and he'd still say it.

Remember, 'someone else' always built that. (no matter what 'that' is)

I think this one is a close second.

"What I was suggesting -- you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith..." –in an interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, who jumped in to correct Obama by saying "your Christian faith," which Obama quickly clarified, Sept. 7, 2008

Not sure I would call it "anti-science" but it sure appears to be anti-robotics.

I've pointed out on multiple occasions that China is kicking our asses because of their strategic investments in robotics and industrial automation. Everyone seems convinced that it's all about cheap labor which is incorrect.

Check out the BMW plant in China... not alot of human labor there as you may see.

This one really got my goat since I watched Elysium. I was thinking the whole time... FUCK, if they can make such great robots that can run around being soldiers, policemen and even parole officers...

WHY THE FUCK can't they use them to clean up the planet.

Kind of ruined the movie for me.

Not a fact at all. Obama is actually pushing for infrastructure projects because they create lots of useless slave labor jobs for uneducated nincompoops. It's just a political ploy to act like he gives a shit about jobs.

Robots could be tasked for these functions within the year.

If he is talking about pressing policy issues, like attacking Syria to help the terrorists, or taking steps concerning The Great Global Warming Hoax, yes, we have to pay attention because they signal another round of attempts to destroy America. However, when he says this stuff it has as much value as the sound made by banging on an empty barrel, and deserves no notice other than a mental note that there has obviously been no cure discovered for the common moron.

The key here is UNION jobs. Obama just threw the unions under the Obamasocialistcare bus, and now needs to find ways to funnel more government money to the union bosses to keep them from mutinying and refusing to endorse and campaign for Democrats in '14.

We're talking about the most pressing issue here. Everything else is a distraction.

Even wars are all about robots today. Look at the drone issue.

The level of profundity regarding robotics has no equal in the history of civilization.

There are two kinds on people today.

1. People building robots.
2. People waiting to be destroyed by robots.

Choose wisely

Not to Obama. To him, the two most pressing issues are:

1) Help his fellow Muslims advance their goal of establishing a caliphate through wars and terrorism

2) Help his fellow Marxists advance their goal of establishing a world socialist government by destroying the world's capitalist economies and undermining the democratic process.

In these pursuits, robots are a detail; they don't figure prominently in either. Good thing, because Obama doesn't understand them.

Americans are conflicted about robots, which I feel may have something to do with the Calvinist work ethic-but I can't find that blasted article in business week that snidely castigates all the out of work Americans for not picking up the lute, and implies that the work force has to be kept performing mindless tasks in order to keep them from becoming apathetic.

Lack of robots being make work for the masses, in that case.

Unlikely.

Ask yourself, if you were designing a robot that you knew would probably encounter opposition, would you put an "off" switch on it that could be accessed by just anyone?
