he is probably punishing you for not coming and getting him the second time, you baby him and he's testing to see how much control he can exert over you, using your devotion to his every need.

#1... do you even have any kids??? Please leave this mother alone. Sometimes no matter how much you care , Love, and try to get your children to do the right things they wont. At 15 most kids think that they know everything and you as the parent know nothing anyway. Please just find another thread to post on if you can't be supportive.wtf

Sorry but he has a point. The mother could search for her son on the path that he would travel home on. I would do it.

You are stupid. Why are you not in control of this situation? On this site begging for prayers. Be a mom and find his ass.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 46046882

Wow, you are pretty heartless. Did you not read that she's already called around and gone to the authorities? It's dark out right now--not like she can drive around and just spot him at this hour. Please don't comment if all you have to share is judgment. I somehow doubt you would fair any better given this woman's circumstances.

I hope the best for you geo. I always want to believe that when my kids get older that there will be less worry with them being on their own. It must be very hard on you. I'm not sure how I would hold it together, but you sound like a strong parent doing the best you can. Good luck!!!

Please Geo, let us know the second you find him.
I'm constantly praying for him.
Don't wait, go to the police station until they get their asses moving.

I will be thinking about him and you all day.

Blessings to both.
SPEAK UP. SILENCE IS DEADLY!

Oh, wow, pinned? Thanks!

Thank you for your prayers, he finally resurfaced at almost 1:00 am - his story of where he has been makes no sense to me and I am just happy to see he is alright. He was out there in the dark alone a long time all over town, according to him. I guess I am just going to have to consider this common behavior for him from now on and try to just wait it out, even when it doesn't make any sense, because this is just too much to go through. Because of his disorder, things don't really affect him the way they do other people, he doesn't worry about much, react to other people's feelings, etc. Like me trying to impress on him what I just went through worrying about him and trying to find him, it's like he doesn't have the wiring to process that, unfortunately.

I appreciate your concern and support.

Mods - please unpin this thread - but everyone say a prayer or two the for ones that are still out there, not yet found...

i'm not so sure Geo

sounds like manipulation to me
i have a special needs kid too
i understand how it gets

stay strong on those boundaries
and when you tell him to do something, reward him when he is compliant and consequences when he is not

anyway, glad hes home

I'm glad he is home and safe,Geo. It is a difficult battle, somethings are hard for us to understand. This spectrum is subject to change without any given notice. My child just doesn't grasp things like others either. What is important to me,doesn't phase him a bit.His wiring is different, but he's my son and I love him just the way he is.

Actually if your child was missimg you SHOULD post on GLP and EVERYWHERE w a large audience!
Hopefully ur NOT a parent ! And if u are posting on glp if a child is missing should be the FIRST thing u do !
Then twitter /fb then call 911 radio stations and local media
When someone is missing TIME is NOT on anyones side
Only Critical thinking and Immediate Action
Over 4000 children PER DAY gomissing in USA alone!!!
Almost a MILlIoN kids a YEAR!
See usa govt missing persons site for stats!
When every second feelslike an hour
Theres no time to spare until the person is located!
Period!

If he is losing time you may wish to consult his physician. Sometimes this may be a symptom of neurological issues, which may be manifesting as he matures:

Similar to wandering* behaviors in seniors with dementia or Alzheimer’s, children and adults with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are prone to wandering away from a safe environment. Typically they will leave to get to something of interest, such as water, the park, or train tracks -- or to get away from something, such as loud noises, commotion, or bright lights.
