They did this at a move I went to. I consider it invasive and illegal to search my bag. Thing is the movie pirates probably already have copies, so what it the big deal.

Cameras start rolling in the aisles to catch pirates of the Da Vinci Code

SPIES, surveillance cameras and bag searches may sound like the key elements of an on-screen thriller, but they are being deployed for real off screen to catch criminals trying to make pirate copies of The Da Vinci Code.

Scotland on Sunday can also reveal that night vision goggles and airport-style security checks are being considered by cinema chains in the battle to protect the blockbuster movie from bootleggers.

The extraordinary and unprecedented measures follow a highly successful campaign by distributors Sony Pictures to stop bootleggers putting the movie on the internet before its Cannes premiere on Wednesday.

But as millions of people prepare to pour through the doors of UK cinemas following this Friday's general release, the anti-piracy efforts are being dramatically stepped up.

Sony Pictures fear they will lose millions in cinema receipts and DVD sales unless they clamp down on the pirates. Camcorders are more compact than ever and even mobile phones are now capable of recording significant chunks of the movie. ...

I guess they are trying to scare the few remaining movie goers off the cinema, how stupid. When nobody goes then they will blame that also on pirates, stupid assholes! They are killing themselves. lmao
