Look at the Obama staffers who authored the Obama Care bills! They're young, idealistic, and too stupid to realize that insurance companies are sleazy and will kill their mothers and yours to maintain their profit margins. The ONLY way to pass a successful single payor national health coverage bill is to eliminate the private sector completely unless they do not play by the rules. Seriously, let the insurance companies in on the party and the first time one of them screw over a policy holder or refuse coverage where it is justified - that one and only mistake will cost them sitting on the sidelines for a 2.5 years "time out" of Obama Care. If it happens a second time it's a 10million dollar fine and five years of "out side" the system.

Draconian? Yes it is. But that is the only way to deal with the greedy and largely unregulated insurance companies in the USA. Threaten to put them out of business if they don't play nice and play according to the spirit as well as the letter of the law.
