Row 1: one dot

Row 4: four dots.
Calculate all the permutations of 2, 3 & 4 dots:
Row 2: 2 permutations;
Row 3: 3 combinations of 2, each with 2 permutations, and one combination of 3 with 6 permutations. Total number of permutations = 3x2 + 1x6 = 12;
Row 4: 6 combinations of 2, each with 2 permutations, 4 combinations of 3, each with 6 permutations, and one combination of 4 with 24 permutations. Total number of permutations = 6x2 + 4x6 + 1x24 = 60.

Total number of permutations of 2, 3 & 4 objects = 2 + 12 + 60 = 74.

A tetractys has three different orientations because it has three sides. Each orientation generates 74 permutations. Three orientations generate 74x3 = 222 permutations.
