All the events and seemingly random episodes in His Life are like that..containing multlayered profound messages

thats why they have to be STUDIED..and read and re read..and meditated upon..because there is always something extra to learn

like the bread and the fish it never ran out..there was enough for everyone..and more and more was provided

Back then alcoholic beverages were the only drinks that people knew for sure weren't contaminated with bacteria.
Jesus was not trying to help people get intoxicated, he was providing them with a sanitary beverage.

Mark 7:15-23, NKJ version:
"15There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. 16If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

17And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable. 18And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him; 19Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats? 20And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. 21For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23All these evil things come from within, and defile the man."

so being drunk doesn't make you a drunkard...ok there fella

No, it doesn't. Habitually being drunk makes you a drunkard, not occasionally at a celebration.

Typical justification for getting drunk that countless drunks have used before.

Re: Do you think Jesus could ever forgive himself for turning water into wine?
There wasnt enough wine

This does not mean everyone was pissed..or that the extra wine would make everyone pissed

for all we know maybe bthere wasnt enough to go round..maybe more people turned up..or the wine merchant didnt bring enough wine along

secondly
to provide wine does not encourage anyone to get drunk..it is up to the free will and common sense of the individual to know when enough is enough

This episode..didnt just happen..it was toshow the amazing power of intercession of the Blessed Mother..even for the most trivialof things Christ actually changed His plans and His timeline to please Her

yes, it was the Holy Virgin's fault, not Jesus.
she asked him so he was put on a spot.
if he didn't do it he would have been disobedient and gone to hell because he would have sinned,
also disobedience would mean he was no longer umblemished.
he was put between a rock and a hard place.
damned if he did and damned if he didn't. :(

They would drink wine for the water quality wasn't up to our standards.

Re: Do you think Jesus could ever forgive himself for turning water into wine?
To think that people weren't getting drunk at this festive event is naive.
