I tried to remain aware last night by pointing a finger in an "over there" way as I drifted off.

Didn't seem to help.

I used to have it real bad after recovery from my upper taking days, then I healed. However I kinda miss it, it was terrifying but I agree when you learn to relax you will feel like you are being sucked through a portal, then tumbling feeling like being violently shaken in a trash can, then poof lucid dream state beyond all belief.

I haven't been able to do it command yet, so can't really give any tips yet. Noticed the paralysis happeneds if I'm trying to hang onto a lucid dream as I'm falling out of it. And if ya haven't tried valarian root I would recommend expirimenting with it.

I did mdma for the first time 2 years back, never did anything hard before just drink and smoke pot, and it really launched me forward in my dreaming capabilities. At first it was scary beyond belief but I'm getting more and more used to it.

No demons, it's just really scary to let go of your body and act with pure mind/will.

I am a dreaming psychic who suffered terrible sleep paralysis panic episodes as I was growing up and first learning how to experience other worlds in my sleep. Sometimes I was visited by creatures made of smoke or darkness before falling. Drugs are not the way to experience true vision. Dedicate your mind to clearing your thoughts before sleep.

I once had a dream that felt like it lasted years. I saw myself standing in a field near where I grew up and my face aged from young to old as the sun very quickly moved across the sky many times over. You would be happy to wake up tomorrow after a dream like that.

Please tell us more about what happens after the falling part and what its like while you are falling.

i have experienced the falling at mach speeds several times, it starts right after i fall asleep it feels like i drop right through the bottom of my bed and i fall into this dark void in complete blackness,

I don't really find anything there just the void, i have been able with practice to stop falling and actually go in what appears to be an upward ascend but again i don't find anything there per say.

when you speak of landing and finding an adventure really peaks my interest! is my experience of this dark void similar to yours?

Sometimes if I try to hard to force myself to move during a paralysis episode I get an excruciating headache.

After about 15 years my Sleep Paralysis took a turn where I sometimes found I couldn't inhale until the paralysis unlocked.

That is pretty scary when it happens.

Re: If you encounter sleep paralysis. Relax and let it pull ya under.
ironic, i've been expiericing a lot of sleep paralysis lately... but hadn't experienced it for years prior to this

it usually starts with me realizing i am "awake" but unable to speak nor move, but then i drift into "well, i could move if i really wanted to" and sit there and enjoy it

a few times i have spoilt it by moving or speaking, i do often feel a 'presence' of some kind during it. for some reason i thought a friend was about to come into my room, but i couldn't move, i eventully yelped a "yo" then completely woke up thinking.. 'wtf.. there is no friend here'

odd times

Re: If you encounter sleep paralysis. Relax and let it pull ya under.
I have to agree. I used to freak out when it happened. As I grew older I would relax and the feeling of being unable to speak or move would fade. I have heard sleep paralysis experiences can lead to out of body experiences but I never experienced that myself. It's pretty rare that I even experience sleep paralysis anymore; but I would have to agree that you need to relax when it does occur.

And in honor of the thread I dedicate this song to Nikolai Kai

Re: If you encounter sleep paralysis. Relax and let it pull ya under.
A good way to induce sleep paralysis episodes is to catnap through the day when you get the opportunity, a couple of hours here or there, so when you come to your main nights sleep, you've already taken a good chunk of your sleep.

Chances about 50-75% into your sleep you will start experiencing paralysis episodes, and there is a high chance from there of lucid dreaming.

User ID: 27239064 here...

Exactly!! i find that the OBE or "sleep paralysis" happends often when i dont get much sleep then go to work all day, come home in the evening and nap for at least 1.5 to 2 hours then get up (about 10pm) and eat dinner, wach a movie ect. then go back to bed a few hours later.. usually about 3am and it happends most often that way.

i would like to venture deeper into this!!
